Shattered Violets~33

Start from the beginning

The town car stopped just in front of the entryway. While the driver walked around to open the car door, Damon grabbed my arm tightly. “You better be on your best behavior. Do you understand me?”

“What, are you going to punish me for being a bad girl?” I spat.

“Vivian, you best not test me. I’m your husband and you’re mine. It’s time you start acting your part.” He seethed.

Before I could reply, the driver opened the door. Damon slide out turning to give me his hand, to assist me out of the vehicle. When I refused to take it, I saw his eyes glaze over with anger as they bore into me. Quickly I placed my hand in his and watched his anger subside.

“Now that is my good girl.” He whispered into my ear. I couldn’t help but feel a chill run up my spin.

We didn’t even make it up the font steps before the front doors flew open and their stood my father. This wasn’t how I wanted to be here. I wanted to follow through with my own plan, not be part of Damon’s twisted reality. I couldn’t help but feel my anxiety rise.

I watched the darken expression leave my father’s face, as he clasped his hands together, looking down at us. The look as if he was; the cat the just caught the canary expression. I knew exactly what was running through is mind. The deal of his life time had just come walking through his door and I held the key to the empire.

“Damon my boy, I’m so happy to see you up and breathing.” My father smiled and winked at him. Hmm, did he know that Damon was alive the whole time? “Vivian.”  Was his only acknowledgement that I was beside Damon.

“Thomas. Yes I agree. I’m happy to be here as well, with your stunning daughter to boot.” Damon replied gleefully.  “I have to admit with all the excitement of the fast few days, I am one happy man. Happy to be alive and married to the love of my life.”

All I could do was grunt, as Damon pulled me into him. It was obvious my feeling meant nothing in this matter.

Entering the house; we headed into the front grand sitting room. I could still see my mother’s influences in the design. I had to admit I was pleasantly surprised that my father hadn’t redecorated since her passing. Damon led me to an oversized chair, allowing me to sit by myself as he went to fix drinks for us all.

“Thomas, you usual; Scotch?” Damon asked.

“Yes, my boy. We do have something wonderful to toast to; the perfect union of you and my lovely daughter. Well lovely once she gets herself cleaned up that is.”

Damon handed my father and drink and asked me what I’d like.

“A bourbon; make it a double.” I declared. Damn I needed a drink.

He poured the amber liquid into a cut crystal glass and grabbed a small bottle of water sitting on ice next to the other drinks. I watched him walk over to me, taking a drink out of the glass as he handled me the water.

“What the?” I said; looking at him.

“Here, take it. I think water is a better choice for you anyway.” He declared.

“Damon.” I growled crossing my arms.

“Don’t push me Vivian.” He retorted as he dropped the ice cold bottle on my lap and took a seat on the sofa cross from my father.

My mind was reeling. I mean what the fuck. After what he’s been putting me through, a stiff drink would have done wonders. Grabbing the water, I twisted the cap and chugged back a few swallows. Wiping my mouth with the back on my hand, I sat back waiting to see what these two douches had in store.

As I sat silently biting the inside of my cheek to keep quiet, I listened to them talk about me as if I wasn’t in the room. It seems that Damon and I would be in my old suites until the time comes to get our own residence. My father made it a point that we are more than welcome to stay here indefinitely, since he misses having people around. I didn’t know if I should feel sorry for him or kick him in his old saggy balls.

It didn’t take long for both of them to go over my rules and boundaries. It looked as if I was going to have around the clock surveillance. Someone would always be posted outside my door. All the landline phones had been removed, except for the ones in both of their home offices, which I was not allowed to enter unless they were present. Only computer access was in their offices as well. Otherwise I had free range or of the house and the estate.

Damon continued on about some personal shopper coming by in a few hours to measure me and compile a list of all those items I’ll need. I had no desire to deal with any of this. Let alone shopping. I never had a desire to be a trophy wife, let alone an imprisoned one.

Finally after what seemed like a century of my do’s and don’ts; Damon turned to my father. “Well Thomas, We’ve had a busy morning. I think our little Vivian here needs to shower and rest before her appointment. Would you excuse us?”

“Certainly my good man, I’ll be in my office if you need anything.” With that he stood up, and turned to both Damon and I. “Damon, Vivian… I assume I’ll see you both at dinner? I’m sure you can find something appropriate to wear in your closet Vivian. All your belongings you left behind when you departed are still exactly where you abandoned them.”

“We’ll be there.” Damon replied.

“Good, good. I’ll see you both at seven.” With that he walked out the sitting room, crossing the grand hall to his office.

Once my father left the room, I stood and looked at Damon. “Well I assume I will head to my rooms. You can take on of the spare suites in the east wing.” I told him.

Damon just sat there laughing at me. “I’ll do no such thing. You’re my wife and we’ll be sharing a bed.”

“I’d rather sleep on the floor.” I growled.

“Stop testing me Vivian.”

Standing me ground I looked into Damon’s eyes; squaring off with him. “Or what will you do? Huh? Are you going to chain me to the damn bed?” I challenged.

Before I realized what was going one, Damon was up in front of me. “Vivian I’ll give you one last chance to hold your tongue. Do no challenge me again. Do I make myself clear?”

I couldn’t even stop myself. “Fuck you!” I shrieked.

Damon’s hand came into contact with my cheek before I had a chance to blink. The sting radiated trough my jaw as my eyes filled with glassy tears.

“You fucking bastard, how dare you.” I shouted as I brought hand to my face.

“I warned you time and time again, Vivian.” Damon stated in such a matter of fact tone is made me sick.

“Don’t you ever touch me like that again?” I shouted back at him as I ran out of the room.

“Carlos! John! Follow her. Do not let her out of your sight.” Damon yelled to the two goons on the other side of the door.

Taking off into a sprint, I ran out the front door and down the path to the garden. Maybe I could get to Jose before they caught up with me.
