"Bryant do I have to do this?" Chai mumbled fiddling with his hands
"Come on Chai they have no idea you're a merman and they won't ask anything about it I promise" Bryant said with a smile putting his hand on Chai's shoulder trying to calm his nerves
"Alright but what if they ask about where I come from and stuff?" Chai asked again nervously
"We'll get to that later don't worry" Bryant said with a smile taking Chai's arm, he led him outside and over to the main house where his parents lived
"Mum? Dad? Where are you?" Bryant called out into the house with Chai gripping tightly onto his arm
"In the kitchen!" She called back, Bryant gave Chai a small smile before they walked into the kitchen. Bryant's mum was cooking something and she looked up when the too boys walked in
"Hey Bry, oh who's this?" Bryant's mum asked
"Mum this is my boyfriend Chai" Bryany said with a smile
"Well it's nice to meet you Chai I'm Amy" She smiled at Chai kindly
"Ni-Nice to meet you to-too" Chai said nervously
"Sorry he's a little shy" Bryant said affectionately
"That's fine, are you hungry?" Amy asked
"Yeah I'm pretty hungry are you Chai?" Bryant asked Chai
"I guess?" Chai shrugged
"Well I'm making tuna sandwiches so just wait out on the deck and I'll be out there soon" Amy replied
"Where's dad?" Bryant asked
"He's at work he got called in something happened" Amy replied, Bryant nodded and lead Chai back outside. They both sat down on the deck on the chairs
"Hey Bry, I'm your boyfriend?" Chai asked
"Well you if you want to be sure" Bryant asked
"Yes!" Chai said cheerfully, the thought of being Bryant's boyfriend made his stomach feel all bubbly and he felt like fireworks went off in his chest
"Good I'm glad" Bryant smiled at Chai and tapped his nose with his finger making Chai screw up his nose
"Here are the sandwiches, I also made some cheese ones just in case" Amy said placing down a plate of sandwiches
"Thanks mum!" Bryant said with a smile
"I'll sit with you whilst you eat" Amy said sitting down across from the two boys, they ate in silence for a little before some questions came up into Amy's head
"So Chai were do you go to school?" Amy asked Chai
"He's 19 he's been finished school for a year" Bryant asked for him
"Oh what do you want to do in your future?" Amy asked
"I do like studying sea creatures" Chai shrugged
"Well me and my husband work at an aquarium and we work with sea life, maybe you could come over and have a look one day" Amy suggested
"Maybe" Chai shrugged, they finished their sandwiches and said goodbye to Bryant's mum as they walked out of the yard and onto the street up to the shops
"Sooo what are we going to do now?" Chai asked Bryant
"Smoothies again?" Bryant suggested, Chai nodded happily and they headed into the smoothie bar. Chai sat down whilst Bryant went and ordered, when Bryant sat down he noticed something wasn't right with Chai
"Chai you ok?" Bryant asked with a frown
"Yeah I'm fine just a headache" Chai said with a weak smile
"Alright just let me know if you want to go home" Bryant said, they waited a little while before the smoothies showed up and they both started drinking them silently
"Bry where's the bath room?" Chai asked
"Over there, you ok?" Bryant asked again getting more concerned
"Yeah I'm fi...
