Chapter 3

Kate Beckinsale as meredith-Kate's mom, she may look young but she is actually 43

"Mom, so nice to see you again" i walked into the room after i had a quick shower and got dressed.

"Oh Kate" she said with a fake smile plastered on her face but the smile quickly disappeared "what took you so long?"

"I did not expect you to be here already" I said slightly lying, I looked around the room and couldn't see my dad anywhere "mommy, where is dad?"

"Oh, he didn't want to see you at all dear"
Way to sugarcoat it mom!

"Ok, Lily said you have a surprise for me?" I looked over at Lily who was just standing at the table without a care in the world

"Yes we do but that's for later, right now we have to go" my mom said grabbing both Lily and I by our wrists

When we got outside i saw a big, black SUV and got in, Lily and I sat in the backseat and my mom sat in the front with the driver a silence filled the car for about 5 minutes

"Mrs. Isles, where are we going?"Lily broke the silence

"Lily, i have told you a hundred times that you call me Meredith!"

"Actually you can just call her mom instead of anything else" I said. Since Lily and i were friends for 18 years i thought t she could call this 'wicked witch of the west' mom instead of Meredith

"Lily, Kate is more than right but to answer your question from before, we are going shopping" you should know that i am not the normal teenage girl, I HATE shopping, I don't like wearing dresses and i don't usually like things that other girls like and my mom knows. Lily on the other hand, LOVES all of these things.

"MOM!? Why?" I yelped

"Oh please Kate, stop over expressing, it's just shopping!" My mom said , clearly annoyed.

When we got to the shops my mom took Lily and I into a shoe shop filled with six inch heels, my mom got a pair of black heels for me that i could barely walk in and Lily got herself about 4 pairs of heels, after we left the shoe shop, my mom took us to a formal dress shop and told me to pick a dress out, none of the dresses were my type except a black dress with a lace back so obviously my mom had to get it for me.

After the long day of shopping my mom dropped Lily an I off at work for our night shift.

"That was lovely, thank you mrs-" Lily said before my mom interrupted her

"Mom, Lily call me mom!"

"Thank you mom" I said about to hug ger but she got into the car before i could and drove off

"Some guy at table seven, asking for you Kate" Jake said as i finished getting table nine's order

"Get Alicia to cover it" Alicia is one of the waitresses that hates it when guys ask for a specific girl so she usually helps us get out of this type of situation

"I would but he said your name, he didn't just point at you and ask for that girl" all my attention turned to Jake

"He said my name!? Who is he?"

"I have no idea, why don't you go check!"

I walked up to table seven and saw the guy who sat there last time -Christopher Black

"Hi, how can i help you?" I asked as normal as i could

"Kate, lovely to see you again" he gave a small grin that showed his dimples

"Uhm mr. Black, how can i help you?" I couldn't help but stare at his gorgeous face, wondering what he is going to ask, is he going to ask me out , is he going to ask me to sit down or is he-

"Can i please have the salmon salad again, it was really amazing" obviously he was gonna ask that, I don't stand a chance with him

"Sure sir!" I said probably faking the happiness too much "coming right up" as i walked away i couldn't help but wonder why he is always here alone

It's because he wants to see you! A little voice in my head said

Oh no way, he is probably married and takes the salmon salad back to his wife

Or he keeps getting stood up on dates

Or he just likes to go to restaurants and think

Wait! I got it! He is the health inspector and hevis testing the food

"Here is your salmon salad for table 7 Kate" the chef gave me a big plate of delicious looking food

I walked to table seven to give christopher his food but when i got there i saw a woman with him of course he has a woman with him

Once again i had to plaster on a fake smile and walked to the table "your salmon salad sir, and would you like anything ma'am?"

"No she was just leaving!" Christopher said obviously wanting her to leave

"Oh no i wasn't" the woman said with a small chuckle and when she turned her gaze to me her face turned serious "give me the steak tartar" she insisted rudely

"Yes ma'am" i said trying to not sound pissed off at all and you thought christopher was here for you "SHUT UP" I accidentally said out loud

"Excuse me!? Are you talking to me??" I could see a vein in the woman's neck swell as her face turned red an Christopher was enjoying this all too much

"She most certainly wasn't talking to you!!" Jake came to my rescue and grabbed me away from the table

Hey guys, i just realized that the scenes change really quickly eg. One second she is shopping with her mom and the next she is at work.if that bothers you please tell me.
If there is anything that you don't understand please ask and i will try to edit it, i will be showing a picture of Jake in the fifth chapter♡
