(how can you love two people at the same time?)
the man contemplates his next move
for a labyrinth heart does no good
when the challenger is bad at directions
the rush of pleasure becomes static
leaving a phone call made in codes
deciphering between words is hard
when the alphabet awakens ruinsthe indiscretion is a blaring siren
a flaw in the man's skewed logic
his crimes of passion looking bleak
in the living room of his transgressions
temptation tastes bittersweet nowthe ring on his finger tightens
crushing the bones of his guilt
the 18-karat stone drags him
down to his knees for forgivenessthe woman smiles across the kitchen
knives on standby, in case she has the urge
to claw out his cheating heart and
send it back to the other lover in style(no baby, you just can't love two people with only one heart to give)
