Freja Ahlström looked down at the baby in her arms with pity.
They girl would never get to know her father.
It's was clear. He hadn't helped with the pregnancy. He hadn't been there for the birth. He hadn't come to visit, not even these three days later.
"Oh, my child." Freja said.
Freja had grown up in Norway, and moved to England when she was 14. She never got used to the English accent.
"I'm so sorry, min datter."
My daughter.
"Those silly myths, the Greek ones." Freja said suddenly, looking at the baby again.
"The girl, Pandora. The story said she was the most beautiful. Like you. That will be your name. Pandora Thora Ahlström."
The finally nurses took the baby back and put her in the bassinet with the other newborns.
After a signing the birth certificate, Freja decided to follow them.
Sherlock Holmes knew that the baby was here. He knew that he had to go to the hospital.
Walking down the hall to look through the glass to see all the babies, he saw the nurses gently placing a baby in a bassinet that said 'Ahlström'
"It's a baby." Sherlock marveled.
"Yes. What did you think it would be. A cow?" An accented voice suddenly said from behind.
"Freja." Sherlock said curtly. "What's it's name?"
"Her. Not it. Her." Freja said, voice frozen. "Pandora Thora Ahlström."
"Thora?" Sherlock said, rolling the name on his tongue. "It's a beautiful name."
As the short blond, green eyed woman approached the taller man, she raised her hand, as to slap him.
"I'm seventeen, Sherlock. I never wanted a baby at seventeen." She said, tearing up.
"I'm sorry. I know this wasn't your plan." Sherlock said, turning to look better at the baby.
"You're not going to help, then?" Freja asked.
With one last look at his former girlfriend, Sherlock turned and walked away, leaving a crying Freja behind.
He wasn't even eighteen yet, either. Not for another week. He didn't want this as much as Freja.
Sherlock didn't feel bad. He didn't feel much anymore.
Not since the baby came.
