"Need a coffee?" Taehyun asked.

"Please."

Taehyun grabbed an empty mug, and prepared him one with the cafeteria coffee machine. Yeonjun sighed deeply, burying his head in his hand.

He was feeling a tad bit under the weather, not because he was sick, but because he felt stressed.

Keeping a secret is much harder than I thought.

The past week, he and Beomgyu went out a lot less, as Yeonjun was trying to busy himself with something else other than his vampiric studies.

Now that Yuju and JiU practically forbade him from poking into their history and way of life further, Yeonjun was left struggling, trying to interest himself with something new.

It didn't work.

And on top of that, the police had been dialing, asking Yeonjun if he discovered anything new, or if he properly disposed of the vampire.

I need a clear mind for cripes' sake.

"Here," Taehyun said, handing him the steaming cup of coffee.

"Thanks."

"No problem."

Taehyun sat down across Yeonjun, resting his chin on his hand as he studied him closer.

"Is everything alright?"

Yeonjun stopped sipping his coffee.

"Hmm? Yeah, everything's peachy."

"You don't look like it, are you sleeping well?"

The heavy eyebags under Yeonjun's eyebags couldn't have said it better, but the latter just shook his head.

"I'm fine Taehyun."

I'm not.

"But everything's okay between you and Beomgyu, isn't it?" Taehyun asked.

"Yes, no worries."

Yeonjun hid his blush behind his mug, thinking how two nights ago, Beomgyu had been the one to make love to him. And admittedly so, Yeonjun enjoyed it more than when he was the one—

"Oh gosh," Taehyun suddenly remarked, staring at the TV screen.

Yeonjun turned his head to the side, eyes widening at the news headline.

"Holy shit."

Taehyun shuddered, tearing his eyes away from the screen.

"Gosh, that mad scientist myth always gives me the heebie jeebies."

"You know it was just a prank to scare you back in high school, when that dumbass popular jock tried picking on you."

"Well, looking at that now, he wasn't wrong."

Yeonjun didn't make a remark at that, paying attention to the news.

"According to multiple sources, Scientist Lee Hyejoo was deeply involved in creating rat poison, and allegedly used herself instead of other animals to test it. Close comrades said she was unwaveringly focused on creating the "best" rat poison that would prevent pest corrosion of crops and other human nutritional resources. Taehyun clapped his hands over his ears.

"Yuck, I don't wanna hear any further."

"Me neither, poor her though..."
