"There's this thing about you" Luke finally says after ten minutes of silence sitting next to me "You-" he stops and sighs, like it's not easy to say what he's about to. He rests his elbows against his thighs and runs a hand through the side of his hair, not touching his quiff "You're fighting me back" his voice is hoarse and he glances at me, piecing my blue eyes with his ocean ones making his mouth pressed into a line. "It's driving me crazy because no one ever did" he turns his head back and stares the dark sky

I shrug my shoulders against the cold metal bench and sigh.

"Do you expect me to apologize?" he could feel the cynical tone in my voice and rolled his eyes

"Could you turn the tease down for one moment? Can't you see I'm trying to talk to you?" he looks into my eyes, making his seem hurt. I swallow the pride at the edge of my throat and nod, letting him know I'll shut up. "This thing about you" he tries the subject again, licking his lips gathering courage to keep talking "I look into your eyes and see fire, this fucking flame that ignites me" he clenches his jaw "I know I'm not the kindest guy on Australia, neither the most carrying one but this spark in you makes me turn into something I haven't been in a long time" he looks down, staring the dirt

"alright" I say slowly, not getting his point. An hour ago we were making out in the bedroom but now he's saying these things I really can't understand

"I'm not saying this will be for real" he moves his hands between us "But sometimes I'll just need you to cooperate" his eyes lie on mine making a shiver run through my spine. I nod, not feeling sure of how respond to this weird talk. "And please, Liza, don't hang out with my sister" he bites his lower lip and stand up.

This is maybe the second time he calls me by my name, there's something behind Kira and I bonding that scares Luke. And I'll find out what it is.

After a while of staring the dark sky he decides to leave, the way from the square to my house were the most silent twenty minutes of my life. But it wasn't an awkward silence, it felt like we just needed a moment to appreciate things. I'm not so sure what I appreciated but my mouth didn't dare to let go one single word.

"Bye" I mutter when he parks in front of my house, before I could leave he holds my wrist and pulls me in a kiss.

His lips are soft against mine, he bites my lower lip making me weak to my bones. I pull away and he smiles

"See you in school" he presses his hands firmly against the steering wheel making his knuckles turn white

I nod and walk towards my new house. It's almost four am when I creep into the living room on the tip of my toes. I see the TV turned on and Gammy drinking tequila in the dark. I trip on one of Zoe's Barbie dolls making a noise.

"Fucking hell!" Gammy jolted from the armchair and stared me "You scared the shit out of me!" he leans against the chair, catching her breath

"Sorry, Gammy" I take my shoes off and throw my body on the couch next to her armchair

"What's wrong baby girl?" she sits and strokes my hair

"I don't know, Gammy" I sigh trying to understand what Luke was talking about "I feel like I'm missing something"

"Is it about the blondie?" she arches her brows and I nod "He's trouble, Liza" she warns me

"I'm aware" I rest my face in my hands

"And so are you" she continues "I don't know what the two of you are up two but I'll just give you this piece of advice" she tugs a piece of my hair behind my ear, catching my attention "Don't ask for more than you can take" she smiles making me feel warm
