"nope. we haven't seen him for a while actually."  Alice spoke, looking over towards Ruby. "he left a few hours ago. didn't tell us where. "

"he just up and left. Onyx went to follow to make sure he was okay." Claire added, sitting down on Alice's bed and trying to appear nonchalant. "but Onyx came back a few minutes after then left himself.

"hm...thanks anyway."

"no problem Ruby."

Ruby slid back outside the door, just barely hearing Alice telling Claire that we was 'lucky' that Ruby came at that moment and not beforehand. but Ruby didn't think much of it. she was trying to look for her husband. he wasn't answering his scroll nor was a note left behind about where he was going. it was almost the exact same situation as the time he was doing some extra curriculum in the infirmary, but this time Ruby had the impression he was okay. she didn't know how nor why because she didn't before, but something inside her was certain.

that doesn't mean she doesn't want to be near him though. he needs her right now. or at least she believes so. and she hopes so. after all, his parents were....

it was a thought that left a really bad taste in Ruby's mouth but it was a thought that was unfortunately a truth. and that's why she needs to find him. for all she knew, his mental state could be in dire circumstances. she can't take any risks.

so where could he possibly be? that was the most urgent question. she placed a hand to her chin in thought as she walked the halls, arriving outside her team's dorm. she entered the dorm to ponder and think. where could (Y/n) have gone? what could he be doing right now?

her deep thoughts caught the attention of her 3 teammates, who inquired what it was she was thinking about. so Ruby did. she shared her thoughts and the question in her mind.

"i saw him earlier" Weiss suddenly spoke up. "he left on a bullhead. i believe. i just barely saw him get on."

"what do you mean he LEFT!?" Ruby basically roared, placing her hands to her hair like she was in utter disbelief. he left. left Beacon itself to go somewhere, but where!? "...home..."

"pardon?"

"he went home!"

"to patch?" Yang asked, not fully believing Ruby to be correct.

"No, HIS home!" Ruby responded quickly. "his parents home! why didn't he tell me!?"

"he didn't?"

"does it look like he did!? i wouldn't be here if he did."

"maybe that's why he didn't tell you?" Blake was the one to now speak up, raising a singular hand. "i don't know what happened, but he looks like he needs some time to himself. maybe that's why he didn't tell you? so he could get some alone time."

"but then why did he go to his parents home of all places? he could just stay in Beacon right?"

"unless he's looking for something that's there?"

"that's not possible. he moved everything into our house when he married Ruby. there's nothing that's his he could get."

"so then..why did he go?"

it was the start of the next match of the final round. well, not the start but it was about to start. (Y/n) still wasn't here so Ruby was alone still. hell, she wasn't even in the stands. she was further inside the coliseum. she didn't know why she was were she was, but something was wrong right now and she didn't know what.

she was just going to investigate and see if she could find anything behind this feeling. also, before she left. there was also...well, there was a look in Emerald's eye. she couldn't describe it, but it was like a gleam, one that screamed impatience yet excitement but not for the reason one would expect.
