"you...did...AMAZING!" Ruby would yell, practically jumping onto your back in glee.
in order to catch the mass of energy, you very quickly moved your arms to hook her legs so you would be giving her a piggyback.
her arms would move around your neck and her head would move down to the back of your own, peppering it with kisses with no breaks in the slightest.
she would be able to feel your tail swaying back and forth along her back as the limb had risen to rest upon it, making her giggle softly each time she kissed the back of your head.
"now then, let's get some food!" she would happily exclaim, not at all in a rush to get off of your back. "what do you want (Y/n)?"
she watched you look up in thought before giving the equivalent of a shrug with your head, looking over towards her and your team who basically did the same thing. basically, nobody actually knew what it was they wanted to eat during the break.
Ruby, sensing the fact that nobody knew what they wanted, softly nodded her head a few times before resting her head ontop of your own.
"let's just go find something then."
she felt your hands grip her legs a little tighter in order to raise her a little higher before beginning to walk forward, her weight seemingly not at all limiting your speed at all. although you did nave to stop when someone was stood in your way.
it was Emerald, whom stared at her teammate Mercury who stood outside a stall that had a bunch of boots on show. however, she turned to face the group of 8 that had unintentionally approached her, giving a smile to them all.
"hey Em!" Ruby spoke, placing her head on your shoulder.
"good to see you Ruby." she spoke. "just left the stadium after seeing yours and (Y/n)'s fights, you guys were awesome!"
you nodded in thanks whilst Ruby expressed her gratitude verbally, although not with using words, instead, she let out these weird yet cute sounds of embarrassment.
"what about your team? did you guys do well? i had you progressed too."
"well..." she looked up, and paused for a moment for some reason. "we did really well."
your team, alongside Ruby's remained on the side listening to the conversation, or just talking to each other, the most engaging one being the talk between Onyx and Blake whom were droning on and on about books, seeing in a debate about which book was better.
"that's amazing! do you wanna join us for some victory food..?"
"oh..i would but, my teammates are..." she stopped, letting her voice trail off as she looked over her shoulder.
you and Ruby looked over at mercury, who for some reason, decided to smell the inside of the boot. you raised an eyebrow at the behaviour, finding it strange, and rightly so. after watching the strange behaviour, you looked back at Emerald, with Ruby doing the same.
"...yeah. quite socially awkward...."
"oh...yeah..ok."
as if a switch had just been flipped, Emerald completely changed the topic for seemingly no reason afterwards, now talking about how she and Mercury was progressing to the next round of the tournament. that also caused you to cock your eyebrow once more, what a weird topic to go straight into right after asking if they wanted to eat...
not only that, but she then asked who would have been entering the double rounds for both your team and Ruby's team, something that Ruby easily told Emerald that it would have been Yang and Weiss. thing was, Ruby couldn't tell Emerald about your team though, because you haven't told anyone. why would you?
