Hard To Suppress.

Ruby arrived at your team's door, very clearly concerned for you based on the expression on her face. why did you leave so quickly? what was said to cause your reaction? she needs to find out. now.

Ruby didn't even bother to knock and opened the door, looking around until she came across your figure. you sat on the floor, scroll blazing away by your side as you held your head in your hands. but, there was one thing that Ruby noticed. the quick heaving of your chest and the shaking of your body.

"(Y/n)!?" she ran over and quickly knelt to sit in front of you. you didn't respond to her saying your name. in fact, you were completely unresponsive.

she made note of your scroll and it's constant sound. she looked over and registered what it said. 'calling Mum.' when it ended, she made note of the dozens of calls to each parent. then she looked back over and realised exactly what was going on. you had come straight here and just been calling both parents to no response. and now...

'he's having a panic attack!' she gulped. 'what do i do!? uh i need to calm him down! that much is obvious!'

she just sat there for a moment.

'HOW!? SCHOOLS REALLY SHOULD TEACH STUFF LIKE THIS!'

pressing her fingers into her palm to think, her nails digging into her palm, she came up with an idea. she moved her hand into your vision, hoping that maybe your eyes would notice. yet it didn't seem to work. she removed the hands from your vision and hit herself in the face, although softly as if trying to calm herself down now.

then she had a better idea.

"(Y/n). it's me, Ruby. i'm here. here for you. i won't leave." she gently whispered. "can i touch you?"

she didn't know why she asked that. but she had the impression that maybe randomly touching you might not go down well. especially as you're having a panic attack.

she looked for any response from your body language that could hint at you accepting. and that's when she saw it. the way your hand slightly twitched towards her. she didn't know if it was a sign but...

she placed a gentle hand on your shoulder, then gently placed one on your check and ran her thumb along it.

"i'm here. listen to my voice. focus on it."

slowly, she tried to see if she could perhaps guide your vision to her face. noting your lack of resistance, she continued the gentle prod until you looked squarely at her. she removed the hand from your shoulder.

"look at me. listen to me. watch me." Ruby whispered softly.

she took a deep breath, raising her hand at the same time. when she exhaled, she lowered her hand. she made note of how you slowly began to copy her breathing.

"good job (Y/n). keep doing what i'm doing. you're doing an amazing job." her voice was soft, and it helped immensely. "breathe in, then out. with me. we can do it together. ready? in....out."

slowly, your breathing began to slow, but the shaking of your figure remained. Ruby continued to do as much as she could possibly do. she didn't know if what she was doing was actually what one should do, but it was working. so at the end of the day, it was helping. the way your breathing calmed down was relieving to her psyche.

she made note of how your breathing had gone back to normal. she searched your face with her gaze. wanting to make sure it was all gone. she searched your eyes for any sign that you were there, that you were aware of her and everything else. and from what she could tell, you were indeed.

within a second, you lunged forward and practically collapsed into her arms. Ruby's hand shot to the back of your head and back, softly and sweetly caressing the back of your head in order to comfort you. no words escaped her, she couldn't allow them right now. she just wanted to hug her husband, silently reassure him that she's here with him.
