"I know, I have a lot of documents."

"A lot is an understatement."

"Okay, too many."

Yeonjun laughed.

"Scientist life 101."

Beomgyu opened his most recent one, a PowerPoint presentation, and tilted the screen so that Yeonjun could see it better.

He leaned in a little closer, so that their shoulders were touching. Just that gentle touch was enough to make Beomgyu shiver, even if it wasn't very cold.

"Ohh... what's it about?"

"This is what I've been working on ever since I came here. To see how the waters around the island are, and to confirm my theory," he explained.

"What theory?"

"That we humans do too much damage to our oceans because of pollution and climate change, and that we're the cause of it."

"Ahh... I completely agree."

"Great."

Beomgyu clicked onto every single slide, explaining what all of this meant, even if Yeonjun understood what he was saying or not.

The oceanographer explained how he measured the water's temperature, how he checked the sand and ocean floors, and what he did to observe the marine and water life.

Yeonjun nodded along, so Beomgyu was safe to believe he understood what he was talking about.

Then again, the stuff I'm ranting about is kind of common sense.

When Beomgyu showed the pictures he took of the dolphins a few weeks ago, Yeonjun let out an excited squeal.

"Oh my gosh they're so cute!!"

"Even cuter in person. I tried to not interact, as it's not really allowed to touch them, but the calf especially wouldn't stop touching or playing with my foot."

"Aww... I wish I could have seen that."

"Well... back then we weren't on good terms. If they ever come around again, let's hope we catch them."

"Okay," Yeonjun smiled.

Beomgyu continued showing Yeonjun some of the other files he had saved on his iCloud Drive.

Besides all his stuff for oceanography, there were plenty of documents having to do with his archeology research.

Currently, he clicked on one with fossils and other discoveries. All the pictures, taken by him, were of all his discoveries.

"So you found these where?" Yeonjun asked.

"Along the coast of California."

"Wow... you get to travel more often than me," Yeonjun pouted, feeling a bit envious.

"Time zones are no fun though."

"True."

"On the coast there were remains of fish cartilage, but what made it so interesting was because there was a huge tooth next to it," Beomgyu explained.

"A shark tooth?!"

"And not just any shark."

Smirking, Beomgyu reached under his desk, grabbed one briefcase, and snapped it open, revealing a bunch of dusty rocks.

And in the midst of them was his proudest discovery.

Strapping some protective gloves on first, he carefully lifted it out, as it was quite heavy.

"It was a freaking megalodon shark tooth," Beomgyu laughed.

"Oh my gosh!"

Yeonjun caressed the tooth with his finger, not even flinching at the rough texture.

"Geezus, I never thought I'd touch one!"

"I know. They're not too common to find, so it was quite a win for me and the company. The tooth dates to more than 2 million years ago!"

Yeonjun's mouth hung wide open.

"Crazy, right?"

"Wow... I am really, so honored to have seen something like this."

"Aish, you would probably see this or more in a museum," Beomgyu replied, packing the tooth back into his briefcase.

"True... but it's even more incredible when you meet the person who found it, and even get to touch it raw."

"I guess."

They finished the document soon after, but Yeonjun's eyes were still sparkling.

"Wow... Beomgyu, this is really beyond amazing."

"It's basic," he mumbled, not feeling so confident about it.

But Yeonjun placed his hand on Beomgyu's shoulder, rubbing it soothingly, and giving him a sweet and genuine smile.

"Believe me Beomgyu, not everyone can manage their discoveries and detail them so well. I have seen plenty of documentation files, and none of them have impressed me as much as yours. I'm not just saying that, I actually mean it."

"You... you think so?"

Yeonjun nodded.

"You'll really go far with this. If you continue putting all these incredible theories and discoveries out there into the world, you'll make a change in our society. You might as well even find the cure to climate change. And I'll support you, no matter where you'll go. You... you really are something, Doctor Choi."

Doctor.

Beomgyu knew he was blushing.

No one has ever used that title with his surname before— only the best of the best are called like that at his company— so being called that was such... an honor.

And it was obvious that his heart was beating like crazy, and that he also had butterflies in his stomach.

What in the world... is this?

"Umm... thank you Yeonjun."

"No problem."
