"I've never gone out in the evening here... might wanna do that even more from now on," Yeonjun said.
"It's amazing, right?"
"I agree."
They finally arrived at the training session, but instead of going through all the obstacles, Beomgyu walked with Yeonjun directly to the mountain.
It was easier after all.
"You have gear, right?" Beomgyu asked.
"It's not the first time I'm coming here, so of course."
"Okay great."
Yeonjun helped Beomgyu strap his safety gear on, making sure it was secure, before he helped himself with the exact same thing.
He held the grappling hook in his hands, swinging it around in his hand before throwing it up onto the rock, making it land in one of the ledges close to the rock climbing set. He tugged on the string, and confirmed it was secure.
"I'll throw yours up if you want," Yeonjun said.
"Thanks."
After repeating the same process as before, the two scientists ascended up the mountain, using the climbing stones to support themselves as they climbed up.
They didn't have much difficulty getting up the first ledge, and the second one was much easier, as they didn't have the nerve wracking fear of slipping and falling a couple hundred meters down.
The worst that could happen was four or so meters.
"Almost there," Yeonjun exclaimed.
"Okay great."
They came up on the ledge, and when Beomgyu glanced up, he gasped.
"Yeonjun!"
"What?!"
"Look!"
"What?!"
"Look up!"
Yeonjun glanced up, and his mouth dropped open at what he saw.
The sky was an unusual color— it was pitch black, yet was coated with lighter shades of blue and green.
And of course, Yeonjun panicked.
"Is it a hurricane?! A tornado?!"
"No silly, it's the northern lights!"
Yeonjun gasped.
"What?!"
The two of them sat down on the ledge, and looked up at the sky.
Now that Yeonjun observed them more clearly, he could see the strange yet astonishing pattern of how the lights moved.
Besides the green and blue, there were hints and tints of pink and purple coating them, shimmering as one.
And if they listened closely (moreover, if the ocean waves weren't so deafening to all other sounds), it felt like they were singing a hymn.
"Wow..." Yeonjun breathed.
"You've said that so many times, but yeah, wow..." Beomgyu agreed.
They just sat there, in silence, observing the northern lights above them.
And with the sound of ocean waves from afar guiding them, it was even more peaceful.
It felt like a miracle being here, away from the real world.
And in some ways, they liked this.
They loved being here all alone on this island.
"Why did you come here?" the two of them suddenly asked.
