Side Chapter (Canon): A Truth Unbearable.

Start from the beginning

never the less, she looked down after her thoughts were broken. and what she saw almost made her fully jump up out of her seat.

a black pair of ears and a tail alongside it's opposite in colour, they looked EXACTLY like (Y/n) did. hell the more she looks the more she realises that..if anything, (Y/n) looked like THEM. her hands slammed down into the desk in front of her, accidentally causing a loud bang to echo throughout the room. she stood up and stared down at the both of the two adults, making note of how they instantly snapped their heads in her direction. in fact. everyone did.

right now Ruby did not care for the attention suddenly on her figure. not at all. if there was even a slight chance that these two were (Y/n)'s parents, she's going to have to try and extract information from them. try to find out about (Y/n). because this is the only way she could do that.

she had essentially just struck a gold mine, but it turned out it was full of high quality diamonds instead. shoot, how can she steer a conversation in a way to see if they are in fact related to (Y/n)?

think Ruby...think!

"are you okay up there?" a voice broke her from her thoughts. it was the woman who spoke, head slightly tilted to the side. and that's when Ruby saw it. there was dove pin tied on with a  black ribbon on the woman's clothing.

in fact, it was on both of their clothing.

"o-oh uh yes! i'm f=fine! sorry." Ruby emit, sitting back down nervously.

"it's okay. maybe just a little excited right?"" was the response Ruby received.

but she didn't take it in. the dove pin and black ribbon gave her a sense of unease. a sense of dread. but why? why did those two accessories give her those feelings?  she had no idea, but she sure as hell wanted to find out.

she placed her hands together and rested her head on it, staring down at the two faunus' with a burning desire. she hopes this was (Y/n)'s parents. god she really did.

but again, how could she even bring up a topic that would somehow lead to talking about if they had a child? no matter what she thinks, nothing comes to mind at all.

Ruby's ears caught a whisper from Cardin. Cardin was well...being Cardin. a major prick, clearly irritated at the 'animals' that have made an appearance.  god...that made her angry. she had half a mind to turn around right now and-

he failed to notice how the ears of the two twitched, and the man stared right at him.

"have something to say?" the man spoke, staring Cardin down.a small glare was on his face with his arms folded. "say it louder. so everyone can hear you next time."

and who would have guesed, Cardin's mouth was sealed shut after that. good, that's what the little small dick having eternal virgin bastard deserves.

Ruby blinked. wow, her thoughts against Cardin there were...new. granted she was always annoyed at his blatant racism but like...damn, she's never thought that before.

.... not like she was wrong though.

-------

okay so, majority of the combat class has been unbearable for Ruby. she's had no opportunities to talk to them at all, no questions from the class were allowed. she did fight them with her team and they got absolutely demolished. the pair of faunus' were a well oiled machine.

although to be fair, she did watch Cardin's team get manhandled by the two in less than 10 seconds, with Cardin's large ego getting crushed when the faunus man not only berated his performance, but straight up insulted him. if Ruby remembered correctly, she was sure he said something like 'a faunus has more worth than your entire bloodline.' or something. she wasn't sure. she did hear all of it considering it was whispered to Cardin. but what she did know is that Goodwitch and his partner, who she now knows is his wife, heard it.
