Journey's End

(And so, we have made it the end.)

Third Person P.O.V.

The two hedgehogs are transported by the orb to Windmill Isle. However, (Y/N) lost her grip on Sonic and he regains consciousness only to find himself falling. "Noooooo! OOF!" (Y/N) winces as he crashes into the ground. (Whoops. Butter fingers. 🧈) The orb floats down to the ground and disappears, the (H/C) hedgehog lands on her feet and walk over to Sonic, who has his face buried in the ground. "Heh. Getting the weirdest hit of Deja Vu right now." She comments, looking at the very place where it all began.

Sonic positions himself and starts to get himself out. (Y/N) puts Chip's camera in her jacket pocket then goes to help Sonic. She grabs him and pulls him, freeing him but he stumbles back as she helps him balance. Once he gains his footing, Sonic holds a hand to his head, "Owww..." He groans softly. (Y/N) gently grasps his face and moves it gently, Sonic blushes from her touch then she hums and look into his eyes, "All good." She tells him with a smile. Her (E/C) eyes shining from the light of the sun.

Sonic smiles at her, but notices the absence of a certain someone. "Where's Chip?" He asks. (Y/N)'s eyes widen then she closes them, removing her hands from Sonic as she takes out the camera. Sonic looks at it in confusion then at her. (Y/N) holds the camera to her heart, "He... his job is done. He's gone back to sleep." She says quietly, voice breaking slightly from emotion. Sonic's eyes widen as he realizes that Chip... is gone. (😔) He looks away but then he eyes land on Chip. He reaches out to him, but Chip fades away. Only a sliver bracelet with a green gemstone identical to Chip's gem is all that remains.

Sonic walks over to it and (Y/N) follows as he picks it up and looks at it. "I'll never forget you. I'll be here by you, always. A part of the earth you tread." Chip's final words to them echo in their minds. The two share a look and (Y/N) gives him a somber smile. Sonic slides the bracelet onto his left wrist and the two look at the sunset together, marking the end of their journey. Sonic breathes in slowly then exhales, smiling from his departed friend's message. (Live.)

He feels his left hand be held and looks to see (Y/N) looking at the sunset. His eyes glance down to the camera and he smiles as he gets an idea, "Hey," (Y/N) faces him. "How about we get those pictures printed?" He proposes. (Y/N) smiles at him and leans forward, placing a kiss on his muzzle. She leans back, "Yes." She accepts. Sonic smiles and takes (Y/N) into his arms as he holds her princess style. "I have legs, you know." She giggles. Sonic smirks at her, "Yeah, but I like having you in my arms." He responds. (Y/N) blushes and rolls her eyes, "So cheesy." She comments. (😏)

Sonic's smirk widens as an idea hits him. "But I may need a little extra fuel." He says, leaning his cheek towards her. (Y/N) scoffs with a smile then leans forward to place another kiss on his cheek. But right before as her lips make contact, Sonic moves and their lips touch. (Briefly. But they touched. 😚) (Y/N) pulls away and looks at Sonic with surprised and wide eyes. He only chuckles, "Let's go." He says. He takes off in a run and (Y/N) holds a hand to her lips then giggles, "You are something, Blue." She comments.

Tails appears beside them as he flies the Tornado near them. "Hey, Sonic! (Y/N)!" He calls out to them, waving a hand to them. (He's okay! 👍) Sonic and (Y/N) smiles at them with the latter waving back. The three enjoy the peace at a job well done. (Y/N) looks at the sun and smiles as she hugs the camera close to her body.

Time Skip: A Few Months

(Y/N) flips through an album as she smiles. She had created a photo album from the picture in Chip's camera, a way to immortalize the time they had shared. She stops on one page as she looks at the picture of her and Sonic at Empire City. He was in his Werehog form and upon Dark Gaia taking back their power, Sonic no longer became the Werehog when night hits. She had to admit, she misses the Werehog. Mainly because he was very fluffy. (And he acted so much like a puppy. ☺️)

Knocking is heard and she looks to see Sonic standing in the doorway. "Hey, Tails has something he wants to show us. Want to come?" He asks her. (Y/N) smiles and nods her head. "Yeah, just give me a minute." She looks at the book again. Sonic walks over and stands beside her to see what she is looking at. He forms a small smile as he sees one picture of himself, (Y/N) and Chip standing together in front of Spagonia University in the day. He looks over at an open box, the bracelet from Chip residing in it.

(Y/N) closes the book the sets it beside the box. "Okay. I'm ready." She states. Sonic smiles at her then takes her hand and the two make their way out of her house. After the two left, the green gem on the bracelet shines for a moment. A special friend sending a sign of his happiness for his friends. (✨)
