The First Temple

(On to the first Temple of Gaia!)

Third Person P.O.V.

Once the sun had risen, Sonic wakes up right as he transforms, but notices he has a blanket on him. He looks at the bed to see (Y/N) on her back as Chip lays on her chest, the two sound sleep. He smiles and stands up, stretches a little to loosens his muscles then walks over and gently shakes (Y/N) by her shoulder, "Hey, come on. We got a world to save." He tells her gently. "Five more minutes..." She groans out, refusing to open her eyes. Sonic smiles at her then smirks as he thinks up an idea. "We can get some donuts before we go~" He coos in her ear. (Y/N) blinks her eyes open. "Fine." She moans then sits up, Chip rolling off her chest and onto her lap as he yawns while stretching like a cat. (Streeeeetch!)

Once (Y/N) was ready and the group picked up donuts, they board the Tornado flew to the village in Mazuri which is where the first temple is said to be near. However, once they landed, they hear the sound of whirring machines. "I give you one guess on who that could be." Sonic says. "Go. We'll catch up." (Y/N) tells him. Sonic nods then speeds off to the village.

Sonic's P.O.V.

Once I made it to the village, I stop before Eggman could see me. As much as I would like to get payback at him, got more important matters. Though, that boy throwing a stone and it nailing in Egghead's head was hilarious. Alright, time to make my appearance. I run then jump and spin dash, hitting all of Eggman's toys and taking them out. "Sonic!" I curl and land on my feet. I look up at the cracked walking egg, "Yo, Eggman. Thanks for that little skydiving adventure the other day." I 'thank' him, pounding my fist into my palm. "I should have known you'd still be alive, you stubborn little hedgehog!" He says back. "What are you doing out here?" I ask him. "I see no reason to tell you-" "Oh, but there is a reason. You splitting apart the planet!"

I look to my right as (Y/N) points her staff at Eggman. "Oh, I see you have brought your girlfriend along." Eggman says. "Now, you listen here, you cracked, over-boiled, expired remnant of poultry! It's one thing to take over the world just to build a theme park, but it's another to split the planet we live on apart to harvest the power of a deity of darkness. Out of all your stunts, this takes the WHOLE cake!" (Y/N) rants. And if I'm being honest, she sounds hot when she's like that. (Oooooh~) No matter, I'm busy. Farewell!" Eggman then flies off in his Egg Mobile. "Wha-? Hey! Wait! That's playin' dirty! Come baaack!" Chip shouts as he flies up a little higher. "Just ignore him." I tell him. "He makes it hard sometimes." I hear (Y/N) mutter.

I turn around to face the villagers, "Is everyone here alright?" I ask. They all say they're fine and thank me for the protection. "If you don't mind telling us, do any of you know where we can find a temple?" (Y/N) asks. An elderly man approaches us, "The temple you are seeking is also what the man that had threaten us is after as well." He says. "Well, we have to find it first." I state. Another man walks up to us, "The temple is a that way." He says, pointing in a direction. "Thank you. We promise to deal with Eggman so you all will be safe from him." (Y/N) says. We look at each other and nod our heads. "Come on, Chip!" She calls back to Chip and with that, we run off.

It always feels good to run, especially at high speeds. I have had to carry (Y/N) at some points so she could keep up. We took out some of Eggman's bots, always a fun activity. And seeing (Y/N) slice up some with her expert blades skills is always a treat. We soon make it up and tree and we run side by side across a wooden path. "Sonic, we got in incoming bug to squash!" (Y/N) says, a giant flying bug-designed robot just up ahead with Eggman flying next to it. We soon run beside said man, "Eggman!" I shout. "Rrgh! How did you get here so quickly?" He says. "Did you seriously ask him that?" I hear (Y/N) ask. And he calls himself a genius. (I know, right?) "No matter. Your road ends here!" He says then he and that giant bug move to be in front of us, so hit the breaks and stand before them. "Behold! My new power! Egg Beetle, go!" He lowers into the mech and it snaps its pincers at us. I tap my shoe on the ground then stare down Eggman.

I grab (Y/N) and put her on my back and start running. I avoid the fires from the missiles but then when he came close and the pincers were about to snap at me, (Y/N) jumped off and landed her feet on Eggman. Which made the bug bounce away and I quickly catch her, put her on my back then dash at Eggman to deal out more damage and he gets launched back. We repeat this for a while along with avoiding bombs, but then it starts smoking, "Grab on!" (Y/N) held her staff in front of me and I grab onto it. She then flips over and I hold on as she then swings me over her and I let go as I spin dash and land the final blow. "Hah! Same as ever, all bark and no bite." I quip, skidding to a stop. (Add that piece of scrap to the pile. 😏)

I look back and see (Y/N) catch up. "Way to go, Blue." She says. I smile and hold my hand up and she smiles as we share a high five. "Hey, guys? Over here!" We both look over at Chip and see him wave at us. We walk over and he points at something. I look at it a large structure with fabrics decorating it. "Is that the Temple of Gaia?" I ask. "Only one way to find out." "Let's check it out." I look at (Y/N) and Chip, we all nod then jump together towards the structure.

(Y/N)'s P.O.V.

Once we entered the temple, it is marvelous. We walk down a path with pillars that had glowing green gems on top of them and the whole place is bathed in a green light. "Whoa. Awesome." Chip says as he rides on top my head. "What IS this place?" Sonic asks. "Well, possibly one of the Temples of Gaia." I sass. But then we stop as we see the end of the path, it is stand-like altar of some kind surrounded by pits of green fire that along with a portrait hanging behind it and shows seven gems. Those must symbolize the Chaos Emeralds. "Hey, Sonic, (Y/N)! There's something weird here, right in the middle." Chip says then flies to the stand.

He hovers around it as he inspects it. "Hey, what's this hole?" He asks. There's something in it? He reaches in. "Wait! There could be some kind of-" But the temple shakes before Sonic could finish. He grabs my hand and pulls me close as Chips hurries and hides behind us. The shaking stops and the stand glows as another platform rises from it, it having a hole in the center. Huh? I feel Sonic relax but he doesn't let go of my hand as we walk up to it. We go up the steps and I remove my hand as we all lean in to look at the platform. "Hmm? What's that?" Chip asks. "I think it's where we place the Chaos Emerald." I voice. Sonic then takes one out and one of the emeralds.

He places it in the hole and after a moment, light starts emitting from it then it rises into the air, a green orb surrounds it as well as being in a pillar of light. I watch as a light shines brightly before fading, the emerald's color and power returning. The Green Chaos Emerald is restored. I smile as I let out a sigh in relief. "Wahoo! The emerald's back to life!" Chip cheers. "Yeah, it is!" I cheer as well, bringing Chip in for a hug. (Hug!) "So this is the Temple of Gaia. That's got to be why Eggman was so keen on taking this place over." Sonic says. "Well, too bad for him. We got here fi-rrrrSssT!" Everyone shakes again and I feel Sonic grab hold of me as I hold onto Chip. "Here we go agaaaaaain!" Chip exclaims.

The shaking happens for a bit but then it stops. I sigh as I stand up straight, "You guys okay?" I look at Sonic and nod my head. "All good!" Chip says, flying out of my arms and lands on Sonic's head. "Come on." I state. We start making our way out of the temple. "Sonic! (Y/N)! Good news!" We stop and look up to see Tails flying to us. I hear struggling and look down to see Chip on the ground. Oh, he must of fallen off after Sonic's sudden stop. No! Focus. "The planet! One of the broken pieces of the planet moved back into place." Tails informs as he lands in front of us. "All right! Nice job." Sonic says, giving Chip a high five and he spins in the air from it, making me laugh a little. He holds up his hands and I hold up mine as we do a double high five. (Woo-Hoo!)

"Take a look." Tails says and we all look to watch satellite footage of the piece of the planet we are on lower down onto the core. "Sweet." Sonic says. "Awesome." I breathe out. "At this rate, you'll both have the whole world back together in no time, Sonic, (Y/N)." Tails says. "A plant-sized jigsaw puzzle? Sounds like a great excuse to see the world." Sonic says as he gives a thumbs-up. I giggle and place a hand on my hip, "Welp, one down, six more to go." I state. "Yeah! Let's go!" Chip cheers.

(Okay, I need a break! I have been writing for a few days straight now. So, until next chapter! ✌️)
