Slaying the Dragoon

(Okay, who is ready for some slaying?)

Third Person P.O.V.

Tails flies across the sky as he looks down at Eggman's base. His Miles Electric turns on as Prof. Pickle appears on the screen. "Oh... It appears that Sonic and (Y/N) has restored the last of the Chaos Emeralds. Things should settle down around here before long." The man says. "That's right! Satellite footage confirms that the last piece is moving back into place." Tails agrees. "That's wonderful!" Prof. Pickle claps his hands. "I'll await your safe return, then. You can give me a full report over a plate of luscious cucumber sandwiches." He says as he holds one up. "Uh, I'll be happy to fill you in professor." Tails replies. But then yells as something hits the plane and sends him flying away. (And he's blasting off!)

Sonic's P.O.V.

We separate from the hug, but... something isn't right. Where's Eggman? But then the place shakes, "Huh?" But this is different. "Huh? Do you feel that?" Chip asks. I stand alert and look around. "Yes. However, this is not from the piece lowering." (Y/N) says. I gasp and look up right as something comes out of it. We all jump back to look at some kind of mech that looks like some top-heavy dragon with a drill for a hand. Eggman laughs and appears, "Looks like you're a bit too late, Sonic!" He says. (And who invited you? 😡)

I bare my teeth and at him, "Eggman!" He's overdue for a beating. (Big time. *Cracks knuckles*) "What do you mean we're too late? We found all the temples and restored the Chaos Emeralds that you used to break the planet apart in the first place!" I hear (Y/N) shout angrily. "Because thanks to my wondrous technology, Dark Gaia is whole and complete! I harnessed its energy to put together this little creation. Behold, the ultra-hyper Prototype-1! Crush them!" Eggman shouts and the mech thrusts its drill at us. It breaks the ground we are on and I watch as Chip and (Y/N) fall. No! But I fall too.

I focus myself and go to save them. And after, give Eggman the payback I owe him for a while now.

(Y/N)'s P.O.V.

Darn Eggman and his stupidity named mech! We fall deeper down and I dive at Chip as he screams. I manage to catch up to him and hold him close to my chest. I look around then down and that is a long way down. I can't even see the bottom. But then I get wrapped in warmth and see Sonic holding me close. He holds onto me tight and I hold onto Chip as he grinds down a piece of rubble then jumps off others then dives down, swings us with a piece of metal then grinds down on the walls until we finally land on floor.

Well, the floor is falling but at least we can put our feet on something solid. (Yep. Solid, falling ground. Nothing wrong with that. 🙂) Sonic looks down at me, "Are you hurt?" He asks, his eyes looking frighten. I pat his chest and nod, "I'm good. We're good." I say for both I and Chip. I look down at Chip and he gives a thumbs-up. I look up then gasp, "Look out!" The mech appears and Chip flies out of my arms as I get on my feet. Eggman laughs as he appears, "This gorge will be your tomb!" He says then places himself in the mech at the head. I glare at him and take out my staff, "Then we'll dig ourselves out!" I bite back at him.

Third Person P.O.V.

"Checkmate, Sonic! Hope you've said your goodbyes!" Eggman states as he has his mech spins its drill and open its blaster arm to reveal multiple. (Y/N) tells Chip to be at a safe distance as she and Sonic battle Eggman. "That lit-up part on the bottom looks fishy. Try aiming for it." Sonic states, noting the bottom circular part with a glowing green panel. "Let's show this cracked egg what happens when he messes with a king and a queen!" (Y/N) states. (Heck Yeah!) The two rush forward but Eggman moves back the Egg Dragoon and aims the blaster at them.

The two run and avoid the blasts. Once the dragoon moves closer, Sonic reels back his fist and punches, extending his arm to hit the glowing panel. It does damage and Eggman changes his tactics. He readies the drill and aims at (Y/N) as she runs at him, but grips her staff tightly. Eggman thrusts the drill forward but (Y/N) only smirks as she vaults herself at him, avoiding the drill before the tip could touch her. She lands on the glass panel on his egg carrier and sticks her tongue at him. It infuriates him, but the Egg Dragoon malfunctions. "What?!" He cries out, pressing buttons to get the mech under control. "You still can't see a distraction? Hah!" (Y/N) laughs then jumps off the dragoon. (😝)

She lands next to Sonic as the two nod their head. The run at the Egg Dragoon and jump at it. They grab onto its legs and Eggman tries swinging them off but they hold on tight, releasing as they swing themselves onto the bottom glowing green panel. (Y/N) puts away her staff then takes out her blades as she stabs them into the panel and chip away the pieces to reveal the workings beneath. "Rrraaagh! Out of my sight!" Eggman fires the drill and it flies at the two, but they jump and avoid it. The drill does damage to the exposed hardware, "Wuagh?!? Nooo!" Eggman shouts.

Sonic then grabs one of the glowing blue contained sticking out then swings himself to grab the other. (Y/N) climbs up to meet with Eggman. "H-Hey! Wai-! Stop! No! This is a delicate machine!" Eggman shouts as Sonic pulls back then launches himself forward to land his cleated shows against the Egg Dragoon. (Y/N) uses her blades to take out more lights, "And yet, still fun to break it!" She smirks widely. (Yeah!) Sonic pulls off the containers, he and (Y/N) jumping off lands on the floor.

It falls below the floor but rises up as Eggman curses at them. "Blast you, you brightly colored pin cushions!!!" He shouts. He fires a drill and it destroys the floor. "Guys, watch out!" Chip warns as the dragoon goes below them and fires at them. "G-Geez, Eggman! Simmer down!" Sonic shouts, surprised by Eggman's desperation. "He's too hard-boiled!" (Y/N) exclaims. The two watch as Eggman breaks throughs a shut gate and it enters them all into a section floating rocks and lava floating around them. (As in between layers. We are deeeeeeep in now.)

They land on one floating rock as Eggman aims at them. "You were lucky! But luck can't last forever!" Eggman shoots an ice ball, landing in the center of the rock. (Y/N) jumps in time but Sonic ends up frozen in ice. "Again?!" (Y/N) shouts. She focuses on Eggman then runs at him and avoids bots he deployed as she jumps and lands on the next glowing green panel. She takes out a blade and repeats the method of break the glass. "Not this time, missy!" Eggman exclaims, he swings the drill at her but (Y/N) narrows her eyes. She jumps as it hits the exposed hardware.

Sonic breaks out of the ice and sees (Y/N) up with Eggman and growls as he runs up and grabs onto the dragoon. (Y/N) uses her blades to embed into the space between the glass and egg carrier. She grunts as she tries opening it and Eggman takes the opportunity to aim a blast at her, but she yells and gets it open. "Wha-Uuurgh!" Eggman yelps as (Y/N) grabs him by his jacket. "I did say I get payback at you." She states lowly. Eggman sweats as (Y/N) reels back her fist and punches him in the face. "Ah! My nose!" He shouts. (Finally! 😆)

(Y/N) let go of him and moves back as he closes the carrier then Sonic appears beside her. She gives him a smirk, "He's all yours." She tells him. Sonic smiles at her then faces Eggman and growls as he reels back a fist, it coated in purple energy and he punches Eggman's carrier. He gives an uppercut then jumps up and delivers a punch strong enough to crack the glass. "Gaaah!" Eggman shouts indignantly. Sonic lands on the dragoon then grabs the carrier, lifting it out easily as it got knocked loose from the punches. He spins Eggman around, "N-N-No! Don't!" Eggman shouts.

"Sorry, Eggy, no stopping him now!" (Y/N) exclaims with a wide smile. She and Sonic jump as the Werehog tosses Eggman away. The two land on the rock as the Egg Dragoon falls behind him. Sonic roars in victory as (Y/N) pumps her fist into the air. (Victory! ✌️)

Chip appears and smiles widely as he cheers for them. "Alright! Way to show that nasty, rotten egg who then bosses are!" He says. Sonic smiles as he brings (Y/N) into a side-hug. "More like King and Queen." He says. (Y/N) blushes but smiles as she rests a hand on his chest, "Indeed." She says to him. (You need these. 👑 👑) The two look into each other's eyes as they bask in their victory. Then Chip appears between them and smiles. (Y/N) rubs his head and Sonic rolls his eyes.
