Asking Around

(Y/N)'s P.O.V.

So, after a fun race and with Sonic picking me up with me NOT blushing from him carrying me like a princess, along with bashing some of Eggman's robots, we have arrived to the city of Apotos. A beautiful place with white buildings and friendly people. I have come here a few times before on my own, but it's been a while since I have last visited this place. Also, Sonic had the Chaos Emeralds, however... "What the heck happened to the emeralds?!?" I shout, holding one of the emeralds in my hands. They were all drained of color and no light shined whatsoever. "I'm... not sure exactly but I think it has to do with Eggman breaking the planet apart." He answers.

Wait a second. Did he say... ((Y/N) exe. Has crashed. Rebooting...) I freeze as I progress his words. "Uhm, Miss (Y/N)?" I feel a poke on my face. "WHAAAAAAT?!?" I scream. I drop the emerald and grab Sonic by his arms, "You mean to tell me that the massive earthquake I felt this morning was the planet cracking itself apart?!?" I shout. He looks at me with a scared look, "Pretty much." He answers. I give him a deadpanned look then let him go as I close my eyes and rest a hand on my head. "Sometimes I wonder how you can be so calm about this stuff." I mutter. "Well, we're still alive and not floating off into space. That make you feel better?" He says. I give a raised brow, but he makes a good point. "I guess." I sigh out.

I pick up the emerald I dropped as we all finally pass under the archway into the Apotos, "Okay, so, the emeralds have lost their power, little guy has lost his memory, and now I find out that the planet is currently in pieces as it hovers over the core. Anything I'm missing?" I ask. Sonic juggles two emeralds with one hand, "Well, I'm still confused about what that form I took was about. What with the hair and those arms..." He says. "So, is this how you usually are?" The little guy asks him. "Yeah, this is the real me. Pretty cool, huh?" Sonic poses after he stops juggling the emeralds. I roll my eyes, but smile at his antics. "Huh?" But I notice the little guy is gone.

"Uh, I think he vanished- Oop. Now wait, there he is." I see him at an ice cream stand. "What the-? Doesn't he want his memories back? Hey! What about your memories?!" I hear Sonic shout to the little guy. But little guy is preoccupied by the massive sundae in front of him. "Well," I place a finger on my chin as I recall how he said he was hungry. "He did say he was hungry. And come to to think of it, I'm a little hungry myself." I state. He looks at me, "Can't figure out what's going on or save the world on an empty stomach." I tell him. He sighs, "Okay. Let's go refuel. After you~" He says, the gestures for me to go first. I give him a smirk, "Such a gentleman." I tease. (Indeed~ ☺️)

And so we each got that delicious sundae and the little guy is enjoying it very much as he flies happily. It's also cute how it's bigger than him, he really is a little guy. "Mmmm-Mm! This chip whatever stuff is great." He says. I lick my a little of mine and I have to say, it is delicious~ "Agree." I smile. "If you both say so... how about giving me a hand to look for someone who knows about Chip?" Sonic says. I open my eyes as I watch him walk. "Chip?" The little guy asks in curiosity, tilting his head cutely. "Gotta call you something, don't we? Whaddya think?" Sonic asks him. "Yeah! Chip... Chip! I love it. Yum!" Chip says as he flies around us. I giggle at his excitement. "Well, then, now that you're happy with both your dessert and new nickname, let's go ask some random people!" I state, lifting my ice cream like it's a torch. (Off we go!)

Third Person P.O.V.

Once the group had finished their desserts, they started asking people within the city. "Oh, do I know this small creature? I'm sorry, but I don't recall ever meeting him before." A lady says. "Sorry, ain't hear of nor seen this fairy in my life." An elderly man with a mustache says. "Never heard of him. Wait, he lost his memory? That must suck." A young boy says. The gang were took a break as they rest on the side of a building. "I'd say, there are a lot more robots here than I last recall." An elderly man in a black robe says as he walks by them. This gets the two hedgehogs' attention. "Eggman?" (Y/N) says. "Who else? I'll go check it out. You stay here to help Chip." He says, running off before (Y/N) could come with.
