Some Assuarance and Slaying

(Time for a little talk. And some more wholesomeness.)

Sonic's P.O.V.

I know I look different, but still, not having one of my friends recognize me stung a little. I shake it off as the university is in sight. We went to the professor and this time he's in his office. "Well done! With one piece of the planter restored, I have managed to locate two more temples. And what luck we have that one right here in Spagonia. Who could have imagined one so close?" He says. That's good to hear. "And the second location is in Holoska." He adds. "Sweet! This will be faster than we thought. Come on, boys." (Y/N) says, running out of the office and I follow after her.

Once we make it outside, we start searching around. "Okay, real talk." I stop as (Y/N) stands in front of me. "Come on, (Y/N), we have to search for the next temple." I tell her. She frowns at me and narrows her eyes, "That can wait. We need to talk about what happened." This again? I roll my eyes, "It's fine, and Amy doesn't have to know-" "It's not fine!" I lean back from (Y/N) placing her hand on my chest. She has that face whenever she gets REAL mad. (Oop-! Would not want to be on the receiving end of one of those. 👀) The one with a look that could kill if it could. She removes her hand from my chest, "Listen, I know you are a little worried about being seen like this," I glance away from her, "But! That doesn't mean you can act all pouty and sulky whenever someone says something." She says.

I sigh heavily but then feel her place a hand on my face, "Come on." I look at her, she has a soft frown now, "You know how Amy is, she's more impatient than you when it comes to you. I'm sure if she had just taken a moment, she would have recognize you." She says. I sigh as I lean more into the warmth of her hand. I close my eyes as she gently strokes her thumb on my face, "Even if you are a little different, you are the same where it counts the most." She says, and feel her place her hand on my chest again. I open my eye to see her with a smile now. She always has a way of picking me up when I'm down.

I think she deserves a little reward. I lean forward, and lick the side of her face. "EW! What are you-Gross!!" I chuckle as she pushes my face away. (Heh. 😏) "What? Had to thank you, didn't I?" I respond. She pouts at me and I see her blush a little, "A 'thank you' would have been plenty." She groans. Chip flies over to her and gives her a napkin and she takes it, using it to wipe off my saliva. I look at Chip and remember how I ignored him when he was trying to cheer me up, "Hey, Chip." He looks at me, "Sorry for brushing you off. I know you weren't intentionally making me feel bad." I apologize. He smiles and lands on my head, "I'm just glad you're still you." He says. I smile in appreciation. "All right, with that out of the way, let's get searching for Temple of Gaia!" (Y/N) declares. I nod my head and we all head off into the city.

Third Person P.O.V.

The group of three make their way through Spagonia as they search for the temple. Along with dealing with some of Eggman's robots and creatures of Dark Gaia. They also had to traverse the buildings to move forward and solve some puzzles to open gates along with using large wooden barrels to break through gates and roll over enemies. Upon taking a short break to rest, "Hey, I know how we can search for the temple faster." (Y/N) says, pointing to the grand clock tower that overlooks the whole city. With that, the three make their climb up the tower, (Y/N) holding onto Sonic as he pulls them both up.

And upon looking out into the city, they did not have much luck, but then, "Guys, I feel something over there!" Chip says, pointing over to a balcony with some horned creatures on it. "Then let's check it out!" Sonic says. He swings across with the help of some flying creatures then he and (Y/N) engage in a fight. One creature charges at (Y/N) and stretches its claws out to grab her, but she sidesteps and then runs at him, jumping into the air then delivers a hard punch at it. It staggers back and growls at her, so she takes out her blades. Sonic deals with the other two as he grabs them both and smash them together then slams them onto the ground. They vanish as they are defeated then Sonic looks in time to see (Y/N) above the last one then swing her blades down.

The creature falls onto its knees before it becomes purple smoke. A key then clatters onto the ground and Chip appears as he looks at it then picks it up. "What is it?" He asks. (Y/N) and Sonic walk over as they look at it. "It looks like a key. Maybe it could be the key to the temple here in Spagonia." (Y/N) guesses. (Maybe~ 🧐) "Then let's head back and tell the professor." Sonic says.

The team made their way to the university, "Huh. Interesting. I'll show it to Prof. Pickle to see if he knows what it is. Oh, and he also wanted me to give you guys this. Though, I don't know how it will help exactly, but hey." Tails says, taking the key then holds out a camera. "Ooooh~ What's this?" Chip asks. (Y/N) smiles as she takes it from him. "It's a camera. You take pictures with it. Like this." She explains them takes a picture of Sonic, the light flashing as the photo is taken. "See." She shows the photo taken on the screen on the back of the camera. Chip awes at it then grabs the camera as he flies around, eager to take more photos.

The three decide to walk around as they wait for what will be found out about the key, but then hear loud cheering and walk to where it is coming from. A group of people were suddenly dancing in the middle of the streets. "HEY! What's the big idea?!?" Amy exclaims as she is being twirled around by a student of Prof. Pickle's. He chuckles as he continues to dance, "Come on, babe, let's dance the night away!" He says. "Ack, heeelp!" Amy cries out. Sonic, (Y/N) and Chip soon arrive and see what is happening. "Whoa, is there some kinda party going on?" Chip asks, taking out the camera as he readies to take a picture.

However, Sonic felt something off. "No... Something's not right here." He says. "Yeah, I feel it too." (Y/N) agrees with him. As Chip then takes a photo, the flash shines a bright light and this results in purple smoke to appears as creature form from them. The people fall unconscious as Amy twirls away. "Whoa. It's a carnival of creepers out there!" Chip exclaims. Sonic and (Y/N) spring into action while Chip stays behind and takes more photos.

Sonic keeps the creatures busy while (Y/N) makes quick work in getting the people to safety. "Look out!" She hears Sonic shout, "Gah!" But gets caught in the hands of one of the creatures. "Hey! Let me go!" She shouts. The creature then looks to see Amy, her having passed out from spinning too much, on the ground then reaches down to grab her. "Hey, don't you lay a single finger on her! Ah!" She yells as it tightens its hold on her. Something in Sonic snaps from hearing that and he lets out a howl as he attacks ferociously. The three fall back and evaporate into purple smoke then Sonic stretches out a punch and hits the last creature in the back of the head. Its grip weakens and (Y/N) quickly grabs one of her blades and tosses it right into its eye. It hollers in pain as it lets it go but then halts as (Y/N) stabs it in the chest with her other blade. (In the eye. Always painful.) Slaying the final creature as it becomes nothing but purple smoke.

She breathes in relief then picks up her fallen blade and put them away. "You okay?" Sonic holds her by her shoulder as he makes her turn to face him. (Y/N) gives him a smile, "I'm fine." She assures him. Sonic sighs in relief, (He cares so much~ 🥰) then hears groaning and the two look over to see the people wake up and now back to their senses. (Y/N) looks back at Amy to see her stirring and Sonic let her go as he walks over and lifts Amy up to be on her feet. As the pink hedgehog opens her eyes she looks back, but Sonic grabs (Y/N) then uses his elastic arms to leave quickly. "Wha-! Bye, Amyyyy!" (Y/N) exclaims as she gets further away. (There they go!) "Ah, hey!" Chip exclaims then gives Amy a nervous smile and shrugs his shoulders. "Wait up!" Then he flies after them.

"(Y/N)? And was that... Sonic?" Amy asks out loud. "Ahh, that would calm things down for a bit around here. Chalk another one up for Sonic and (Y/N)." Prof. Pickle says as he appears and walks over to Amy. "You know Sonic and (Y/N)?" Amy asks him, walking up to him. "Of course. They were here just a moment ago." Prof. Pickle answers, pointing to where said individuals had gone off in. "Tell me... What's happened to Sonic? Please, tell me everything you know!" Amy says, grabbing the professor's hand as an hurries off. "I'll happily explain everything over a plate of cucumber sandwiches." Prof. Pickle says as Amy drags him off.
