"Enjoy," he said, and headed for the stairs.
"Wait!"
Beomgyu stopped in his tracks, not that rude to walk away from a conversation.
"Aren't you gonna sit with me?" Yeonjun asked.
"No."
"Why?"
"Because I don't wanna sit with you."
Okay. That's it.
Yeonjun was fed up, his easygoing exterior melting away and replaced with an anger he rarely shows.
"Look Beomgyu, I don't know what I did wrong, but why are you treating me like this?! Do you have something against me?!"
"No."
"Then why are you acting this way?!" Yeonjun questioned, his voice rising.
Beomgyu gave absolutely no reaction.
And at that moment, Yeonjun hated how much he was entranced by his stone cold beauty more than the fact this guy was more stubborn than a goat.
"I literally just came to this island, I'm trying my hardest to be nice to you, and all I get in return from you is you being mean towards me!" Yeonjun continued yelling.
Once again, Beomgyu only scoffed.
"If I don't wanna be friends with you, then does that mean I need to be nice to you?" he asked.
"Well, yeah! It's just common sense!"
At that remark, Beomgyu simply rolled his eyes and started walking up the stairs.
But Yeonjun wasn't done.
"Get a grip on yourself! Or have you always been this stuck up?!"
That made Beomgyu freeze in his steps, nearly dropping his plate as well with the way his fingers were trembling, the chicken almost sliding off.
He turned back at the ravenette standing by the table, a visible rage in his irises.
"Don't you dare say that to me," he said icily.
That made Yeonjun feel both intimated and ashamed of himself.
"Did I do something wrong now?" he asked before thinking his words through.
Yeonjun nearly smashed his head against the wall. Out of all obvious questions that could've been asked that wouldn't have been so painfully obvious, he chose this one?!
Beomgyu was silent.
He was opening his mouth, trying to say something. But in the end, he just shook his head.
"You wouldn't understand."
And with those words, he climbed up the stairs.
As soon as he was out of sight, Yeonjun groaned in frustration and hit his head on the table, just barely missing the plate of chicken.
"Way to go Yeonjun, way to go."
He could tell he went too far with his comments, far too consumed with his anger over Beomgyu's stubbornness to be friends.
Then again, Beomgyu's right. He doesn't want to be friends, and a corner of Yeonjun's brain knew one should never force friendship on someone.
How do I even apologize?!
Groaning, Yeonjun lifted his head off the table, and just got himself a fork and knife to finally start eating.
He sliced the chicken into a few pieces, and then stuck them in between his teeth.
His entire face lit up in delight.
Wow. Beomgyu is definitely a good cook.
At the mention of his name, Yeonjun's mood almost instantly soured, remembering what previously went down. Yeonjun exhaled again and just finished eating, erasing those thoughts.
Once he was done, he placed the dishes into the sink, and looked for a sponge to wash them.
At least that was something he could do for Beomgyu.
But as he looked for it, Yeonjun suddenly took a glance at the night sky outside the window.
The kitchen was facing the east, so he could see the big full moon rise.
And Yeonjun swore— he's never seen a moon this big before. It looked so wide, beautiful and peaceful, or at least at first glance.
Because when he looked closer, Yeonjun noticed something rather strange about it.
There were creases in the moon that looked rather red.
Almost like... blood vessels.
Yeonjun blinked his eyes in confusion, and averted them away from the moon.
"I must be imagining things," he mumbled.
Yeonjun walked back up the stairs, and then stopped by the door that had light on. He raised his hand, and then lowered it.
Beomgyu probably wants to be left alone.
And he wanted to respect that. But...
Even if we don't become friends, that doesn't mean I cannot at least try to be on good terms with him. I don't exactly wanna be enemies, especially for 24 days, and also in a place I can't easily leave.
He quickly walked back to his room, grabbed a piece of paper on his desk, and wrote...
Hey, the chicken was really delicious; you're a good cook. Thanks for making it; I was rather hungry after I finished unpacking. And I'm sorry about earlier. Really, I mean it.
-Yeonjun
Yeonjun walked back out of his room, and slid the paper underneath the door to Beomgyu's room, returning back as soon as he could so he wouldn't see him.
Though of course, Beomgyu would know from whom the note is from, the answer was obvious.
Whether he reads it or not was not Yeonjun's business— at least he apologized.
Or at the very least, he tried.
