Later on that day, during a small break, Yeonjun interrupted his work and headed to the canteen for a fresh brewed cup of coffee.

As he waited for the machine to finish, he spotted someone entering the room as well, looking like he hasn't slept in a few weeks.

"Hey Tae!"

Kang Taehyun, Yeonjun's closest friend in their workplace, sleepily waved back and approached him.

"Hi Hyung, how are you?"

"Good, you?"

Taehyun rolled his eyes.

"Nothing much, except that the workload has been stressful. My boss is expecting so much from me; I'm sure he wants to send me to Vesuvius at this rate."

Taehyun was an archaeologist, and his main focus was volcanoes.

But that did NOT mean he wants to be sent to one, or deal with one in the form of a human being, aka his boss.

Yeonjun burst out laughing.

"Sure, sure."

Suddenly, an announcement bell rang over the entire building, catching the attention of every worker.

"Choi Yeonjun, to the CEO's office," the secretary's voice announced.

A clank was heard, meaning the microphone had been placed back down.

Yeonjun eyed Taehyun, face etched with confusion. And ignored all the faces turned in his direction, their prying eyes on him.

"Am I in trouble?"

Taehyun shrugged his shoulders.

"No idea."

"Can't be, I sent my latest file on time."

"Whatever it is, I wish you luck."

"Yeah, thanks."

To loosen up the tense mood, Taehyun laughed.

"At least you didn't spill coffee on her, unlike unlucky me."

Yeonjun scoffed, but it came out more as a chuckle.

"I know I know."

Having no other choice, Yeonjun went up to the highest floor of the building, and knocked on his CEO's office door, waiting patiently.

As he did, his ears caught the few people gasping and murmur amongst themselves.

"Oh my goodness, what happened?"

"Do you think he got into trouble?"

"Nonsense, Choi Yeonjun usually never gets into trouble, unless she does something crazy and irrational."

"Yeah, like the one time he 'accidentally' blew up his experiment."

Yeonjun rolled his eyes at their comments.

"Come in," the CEO called from inside, the automatic door hissing open.

The scientist entered the office, and looked his CEO in the eyes.

"You sent for me, Miss Lee?"

Lee Minjoo, CEO of HYBE Studies of Law and Nature, one of the most successful and diligent women in South Korea as of now, gestured for him to take a seat.

Which Yeonjun complied.

"Mr Choi, you submitted your files on time. And I must say, I'm quite impressed with... your creativity," she said, wiping his glasses.
