Rain and Red's breakup affected everyone. It also affected our relationship, especially with Red.
It's been a week since they broke up, and we barely see or hang out with Red now. I don't know, really. Perhaps he was too ashamed to show up, as he was, apparently, the reason for their breakup. Until now, we still don't know how they ended up this way, but Rain said that it was Red who ended their relationship.
"Akin na." I said coldly and went closer to Red when I saw him holding a bag of snacks. "I'll give this to him, and I'm doing this for him, not you." I added with a flat tone.
I'm so pissed. Hindi ako makatingin sa kanya habang kinukuha ang plastic bag na nasa kamay niya. My brows furrowed when I felt someone pinching my arm.
"Aray ko!" I hissed at Aiden when I saw him standing beside me as he pinched my arm. Lumayo ako sa kanya at halos hampasin ko siya ng bag ko.
"You are being harsh!" he hissed back and side-eyed Red. He made sure that the latter wouldn't hear us.
"He was also being harsh to Rain when he left him hanging." I said coldly, and an image of Rain crying on the floor flashed my mind. Those moments when Rain would just sob out of nowhere because of him.
No matter how much I think about it, I still get pissed and annoyed at Red and his decisions. It's true that I don't know the reasons for all of this-of his breakup with Rain, and that's what I am pissed about-him staying quiet like someone cut his tongue to stop him from speaking.
"We don't know his reasons." Aiden said and draped his arm around my shoulder.
"That's what I'm annoyed about!" I said walked ahead of them to leave the room.
Bitbit ko pa rin ang plastic bag na naglalaman ng mga pagkain na sigurado akong para kay Rain.
I stared at it and my brows furrowed, confused as to why he still has this when he ended their relationship a week ago?
I stopped walking and looked back at our lecture room. Nakita kong naglalakad papalapit sina Aiden at Elijah sa akin ngunit lumagpas ang tingin ko sa kanila.
Guilt invaded my chest when I saw Red stayed on his seat, looking off. He looked lifeless.
"Hindi 'yun sasama sa atin?" tanong ko kina Elijah. Umiling lamang siya at hinawakan ang bag ni Aiden nang nalayo ito nang kaunti sa kanya.
"Paano sasama, eh, inaaway mo?" biro ni Aiden.
I rolled my eyes at him at maglalakad na sana pabalik upang tawagin si Red ngunit hinigit ni Elijah ang kamay ko upang pabalikin.
I need to call him. I feel guilty for acting that way. Inis lang talaga ako ngunit alam kong may dahilan si Red, which I am sure, not valid enough to leave Rain without explanations. Nasuntok nga iyon ni Kiel. Kung sumunod ako sa kanila ay baka nasuntok ko rin iyon.
"Ayaw niyang sumama. Hayaan na muna natin."
That's how our days went. When I said that their breakup affected our relationship, I meant it really affected, big time.
Pinanood kong tulalang nakaupo si Rain sa kanyang upuan, pinaghihintay ang pagkain na nasa harapan niya. I sighed and moved his plate towards him. That's when he woke up from looking off and his gaze slowly went to me.
"Eat." I smiled at him.
I looked away when I saw the sorrow in his eyes. Nahagip ng tingin ko ang mga kaibigan na tahimik din.
Walang maingay. Walang nag-uusap. Parang lahat ay nag-iingat at baka sa isang galaw ay sumabog si Rain.
Ilang araw na kaming ganito at at. It's painfully silent every time. Hindi ako sanay.
