"We don't have clothes and our things with us." I said when Atlas said that we could spend our night here.
I watched the breathtaking view of Taal Lake and Volcano in front of us.
"I already figured that out and asked someone to buy us the things we need tonight." he said as he watched me watch the scenery.
We are at a hotel in Tagaytay because Atlas drove straight here after we ate bulalo in a restaurant. I thought we would just spend the whole day here but he actually planned this one already without my knowledge.
"Are you okay now?"
I loosened up and took a deep breath when I felt him wrapping his arms around me.
I tilted my head to look at him and smiled. Something pinched my heart when I remembered what happened earlier.
"I'm still not okay, baby. But thank you for making everything bearable." I answered honestly because I don't want to lie to him about how I truly feel.
I just called my mom and I don't know what to feel when she told me that she left the house for good.
"I'll go to our house, the old one. I'll stay there for a while while I figure things out. You don't need to worry about me because I brought Manang Delly with me." I listened to her as her voice shook.
I was crying the whole time I was talking to her because my mom doesn't deserve this kind of life. We both don't deserve this.
"I'm sorry. This day was supposed to be special to you, but...it was ruined." she said and I heard her breathing from the other line. "I hope I'll have the chance to meet him again, anak. I want to talk to him."
Even if she didn't tell me directly who she was talking about, I know that it was Atlas.
"And I also want to talk to you. I never knew... and I never felt..." a sad smile was plastered on my lips when I realized what she meant. "And I'm so sorry if wala akong kaalam-alam. Pakiramdam ko, ang laki ng pagkukulang ko sa'yo."
The call ended with me crying silently in Atlas' car while he was on the driver's seat, taking a deep breath from time to time because my cries were a torture to him.
"Do you want to swim in the pool?" he said, changing the topic.
It made me look at the infinity pool in front of us. I sighed and I felt warmth in me as I looked at it and the view. It's so beautiful.
"Let's swim?" I said and tilted my head again to look at him.
He smiled and nodded. Pinatakan niya ng halik ang aking labi pagkatapos.
"We will go to our room first to change into our swimming clothes and then we'll go back here."
I agreed and walked with him to our room. But I was really confused as to why and who brought things for us so I asked him.
"It's my grandma's assistant, baby. I called her earlier."
"You planned this, you could've told me para nakadala tayo ng mga gamit at damit." I said and roamed my gaze around the room he booked for us.
"It's okay. I didn't intend to tell you because it's a surprise."
I chuckled and jumped to him, feeling grateful and happy.
We stayed in the room for a while to rest. I even fell asleep, maybe out of exhaustion, physically and emotionally. And I only woke up when I felt Atlas moved beside me.
"What time is it?" I asked and cleared my throat when my voice was raspy.
"It's almost six. You can sleep more." he said gently and kissed my forehead before he moved to get up.
