He left shortly after and as I waited for the mess he’d left on my arm to heal itself I thought through what I had learnt, and who said sexual intercourse was never very productive. Voldemort had split his soul into seven pieces, and if I was going to start destroying them I was going to have to find out where and what they were. I felt him apparate out of the mansion and a weight lifted from me that made knowledge more comfortable. I heard a crashing from downstairs and decided to go look into Bellatrix’s likely new project. I couldn’t really be bothered moving so I thought that this could be an opportunity to see how easy it was to control myself when I was a basilisk. I felt my body melting and welding itself together with an imaginary glue, my heart seemed to expand and I writhed a little as I felt my head change shape. I turned and looked at myself straight in the mirror, it was the first time I’d ever seen myself as a snake and I was slightly let down by my size, I wasn’t a full sized basilisk but rather a kind of stunted one I was going to be careful not to open my eyes because they were quite obviously lethal. My scales were gorgeous though and I was not the most vain person in the world but I spent a little minute to marvel at the greens and blue of my mottled colouring that I thought rather suited me. I turned (eventually) from the mirror and slithered down the hall and coiled myself skilfully down the stairs, it seemed that this form was merely different to look at; there was no otherness to be concerned with. When I heard voices I had to close my eyes not really caring all that much for the people occupying the house but not caring for Voldemorts reaction should they die. I heard the voices getting closer and followed them into the grand entrance that was to the east of where I was. The door was a problem to navigate and I neared it slowly hearing someone around the corner behind me. Light footsteps, that meant Draco, and by the sound and rate of his heart he had been in a rush to get here, He paused and leapt away as he saw me and I chuckled privately at the fear I could literally smell coming off him. He seemed to edge around me pressed tightly against the wall.

“Draco! What is taking you so long, we have company!” Bella shrieked.

“Aunty there’s…there’s a …s …snake…” he stumbled over his words and if my eyes had been open I would have been staring at him, my head cocked ever so slightly and my tongue sniffing the air around him, brushing, rather menacingly over his cheek. The door opened behind the way I was facing with a soft click and a whoosh of air. I turned and even Bellatrix stumbled slightly away from me, flinching instinctively and raising her wand. I chuckled and morphed back, willing clothes at the same time, not wanting to scar Draco for life, and not wanting Lucius to see me, he creeped me out. I was still chuckling when my face became… well normal, and Bella looked livid. “Go away you’re the last thing anyone here needs.” I smirked at her recovering tone my eyes flickering to the other side of the door and pushed her out of the way striding into the entrance way. I looked at the crumpled figure that was being held by a group of idiots I hadn’t seen before, in fact there were three figures, all but one recognisable by sight and all recognised by scent. “Actually I may come in handy.” I replied vacantly as I looked at the girl struggling in her captor’s hands. “Fenrir, where did you find these children?” I inquired, his ugly face the only one I recognised in the hunting pack. “I don't answer to you.” He snarled. I smiled sickly and faster than he could see I had my hands around his throat and held him, being cautious not to hurt the squirming girl. “You do now.” I growled angrily having no patience and letting him know I hadn’t forgiven him for the treatment he had given me when I had been ‘Initiated’. “They were in a forest.” He answered through gritted teeth, I smiled and uncoiled my hand from his about his throat and stepped back, Bella was waiting for me to do so. “You’re not getting the credit for this one so I suggest you just go and slither back into your little hole.” All humour dropped from my face and as I walked past her I felt the nick of a blade across the back of my hand. Furious I clawed at her face feeling my claws make contact with her cheek and blood began flowing from the wounds. “I don't think so.” I whispered as she stood clutching her face glaring at me. I smiled again and walked out of the room, hearing as I closed the door;

“Draco is this Potter?”
