You gave a wry smile, unsure how to react. Had she forgotten that she was still mad at you? Deciding not to question it, you stood up, and walked to the kitchen. There you opened the fridge. Soon after, you heard the padding of Loona's footsteps getting up from her seat to follow you, and you looked up. She was at the edge of the kitchen, leaning to poke her head in, her hair at a dramatic angle due to how far over she was bending. She had put one of her clawed hands on the wall to keep herself balanced.
Loona was curious, of course. Blitzø had made her pancakes before, but she was completely unused to seeing someone cook for themselves. For her. And pizza?! How were you going to make that happen?!
You grabbed what you needed from the fridge. You already had ingredients for a pizza, as you planned and gathered for your meals in advance. It was fun for you on weekends. You had hoped there would be enough for leftovers, but now that you were cooking for two? Oh well. At least now you got to display your skills.
You decided to make a show out of it. You placed yourself and everything you needed in a place where she could easily see you. You grabbed a ball of dough you had prepared, and tossed it around on your hands. You weren't very practiced with this, so it fell onto the baking sheet you were using a couple of times. Loona laughed evey time this happened, and every time you smiled at her. You glad she wasn't expressing anger with you anymore. You wanted to enjoy the fact that she was happy, at least for while it lasted.
You placed the now flattened dough onto the baking sheet. It would be a rectangle, and there would be square slices, but that was fine. Unless Loona was one of those freaks who always needed their pizza sliced from a circle. You glanced at her, but her eyes were focused intently on what you were doing, and didn't express any confusion or disappointment. Just curiosity, but that was good.
"Any toppings you prefer, or don't want?"
Loona looked at you, face decorated with an expression that told you she was surprised you had asked her that, but happy you wanted her input.
"I want meat."
"Alright. Anything else?"
She kept looking at you with wonder on her face. You started to wish she would look at you like this all the time; filled with adoration and awe. You never got to cook in front of, or for anybody else in Hell, so this was new for you. Loona thought for a moment.
"I'm cool with whatever you think will taste good."
You smiled, and Loona's cheeks reddened, though not as much as when you had told her she was the source of all of your fury and ambition. It felt really good to see her like this. Though you were still worried this state wouldn't last, and she would remember she was angry at you when it came time to sleep. Satan, the floor was going to hurt...
When you had decorated the pizza, and had finally put it into the oven to cook, Loona closed her eyes and tilted her snout into the air. She was smelling the pizza, and her tail started to wag once more, slowly. When she opened her eyes and caught you staring at her, she gave you a sheepish smile, and blushed again.
"What? Hellhounds are creatures of gluttony. I can't help it," she said teasingly.
"I don't do that though."
"Yeah? Well, you cook, so maybe you just express it in a different way," Loona said, offering an explanation as to why you didn't behave like her. Then her brows furrowed, and she grinned. She stepped into the kitchen, jabbing you in the ribs playfully, laughing as she did so.
"I can't believe you made me say that! You're not even a real Hellhound!" she giggled.
You flinched away from her jab, though it wasn't out of fear of her claws, when she had stabbed you under the ribs before. No, this was just a playful dodge. But your expression hardened at her words, and you were reminded that your status as a Hellhound, or a sinner, was always going to be in question. You were a human once. You had died, and had been punished to take on the appearance of that which had killed you.
