The second introductory chapter. Don't worry, after this it'll just be relationship stuff.
You stood on the sidewalk of the building that contained their office. It had taken you several days to find them. Not to find their ads, no. Their ads were everywhere. It just sucked that everything was misspelled, and the characters for the number and address were never in the right order.
You ended up having to abandon your apartment, and your old hellhound identity, given that you had to give your boss a name and address when you applied for that stupid fucking job. Animal control thankfully gave up after a few days. Hell was always like that; businesses and workers didn't work any harder than they had to, often abandoning jobs, unless they kept getting paid, or just long enough until their employer didn't notice.
You were able to sneak back into your apartment, gather what little belongings you did have, and leave. It also sucked that you lost all of your money, the animal control worker-equivalents ransacking the place and taking anything valuable. No money, no job, no apartment, not even a new identity. It didn't matter; you planned on going back to the living world anyways. You were sure you'd revert back to a human looking form when you got back up there; you were human once, you'd be human again. You avoided thinking too hard about it; too much was riding on this plan for you to worry about it failing.
Your drifting mind snapped back to reality as you took a step forward, wearing your winter gear from your Deathday, small backpack filled with nothing but non-perishable food and water. Your plan was to ask for a job as an assassin, follow them through whatever means they had to Earth, then ditch them the first chance you got.
As you entered the building and got on the elevator, a large group of succubi and a couple of hellhounds followed suit. You were uncomfortable, being so close to other demons, especially ones with a reputation for fucking anything they could see. Your eyes drifted to the hellhounds in the elevator car. One of them locked eyes with you, seeming to recognize you. FUCK.
"Hey, is that Y/N? Hey, what the fuck?! I got fired because of you. Hellhounds aren't even allowed in that BarkBucks without an owner present anymore." She had light brown and black fur, and had the appearance of a Doberman.
You averted your gaze. You were now much more uncomfortable that the hellhounds were in the car with you, rather than the succubi.
"You're a pathetic excuse for a hellhound, you know that? It's already hard enough living without hellhounds like you ruining it for the rest of us," A second one piped up. He was smaller and looked like a dachshund.
A third, grey-furred, and much more muscular hellhound put himself between you and the other hellhounds. He didn't say anything. He made no move towards you, but it seemed like he was trying to keep conflict from arising within the elevator car.
"Hey, I'll have you know I'm not a hellhound!" you said, almost whisper-shouting, trying not to get the attention of the huge one any more than you had to. He raised an eyebrow, but the others immediately started shouting at you. The succubi just looked at you curiously. You tried to ignore them as the elevator came to a stop.
You tried to step off, but the large grey one stuck out an arm to stop you, letting the other demons get off the elevator before you. You hadn't noticed that they were going to the same floor as you. You also weren't sure whether to be grateful that he had separated you from the others, or angry that he put his hand on you. He finally let you get off, making sure the others were far enough to not create a disturbance from either you or the group.
"Name's Vortex. Don't cause problems," He said simply, getting off the elevator. You growled quietly, following him, only because I.M.P. was this way, but he ignored you. "Tell Loona 'Hi' for me." You immediately stopped growling, giving him a confused expression as you walked to the door directly across from him, "I.M.P." scrawled across the window. You turned away from him and stepped through, completely unprepared for the chaos that you about to be faced with.
