Death Won't Do Us Part (RWBY x malereader, Ruby x malereader.)

you and Ruby watched with bated breath as the sword basically broke apart, slowly beginning to form into a scythe. now imagine the disappointment when Qrow stopped the gears and formed it back into a sword, then placed it on his back instead.

so, with no weapon equipped, Qrow leaned forward and wagged his finger at the woman opposite him, just urging her to dash forward and introduce his throat intimately to her rapier.

and so she did. or well, she tried to. as right before she did, she stopped just short due to a resounding shout. Ruby hobbled on her feet, looking around for a moment before clearly her throat and broadcasting her voice just load enough for the older Schnee to hear.

"i counted more than 5 missed strikes!" she spoke with sass.

the older Schnee visibly flinched, taking a deep breathe to calm herself before turning around. you were also surprised. Ruby? being sassy? and actually meaning it? woah, she is growing older that's for sure. was it a new trait she gained from her 16th birthday? which yes, you obviously celebrated by taking her on a romantic dinner date.

you couldn't believe it. since when did she have possess the ability to sass? damn you were proud. if only you knew the context as to why she said that though. although you noticed the soft smile of Weiss which was then quickly replaced with a well put-on fake anger.

from your best estimate, it had something to do with Weiss and her sister that Ruby had heard, which is why she said that. perhaps it was her way to potentially defend her friend? you didn't know, but that was the best thing you could come up with at the current moment in time and honestly it was by far the most logical one.

Ruby grabbed your hand and practically flung herself forward with you in tow. she knew you want to see Qrow just as much as she does

"UNCLE QQQQRRROOOWWW!" she yelled, dashing right at the man whilst still holding your hand.

the man begun to turn around, extending his arm outwards as if he knew what to expect. Ruby let go of your hand before using her semblance to land on his arm, holding onto it and leaving her dangling in the air.

"oh it's so good to see you!! did you miss me, DID YOU MISS ME!?" she asked with a giddy smile.

Qrow let out a soft hum before turning  to his niece, staring her dead in the eye.

"...nope." he replied, ruffling her hair as she happily kicked her feet. 

his attention was brought away from his niece when he felt someone collide with his front, an there he saw a familiar set of snow white ears. it was obviously his nephew-in-law that had hugged him.  he then moved his hand down to (Y/n)'s head too, ruffling his hair as well.

"heya kiddo."

(Y/n) tightened his embrace in response, eliciting a short chuckle from Qrow's lips. Ruby's smile extended when she watched the encounter, still dangling off Qrow's extended arm.

"Qrow! a word." a voice shouted further down the path, causing the 3 family to look over to see Ozpin staring at Qrow

"i think i'm in trouble..." he whispered to the both of you, lowering hsi extended arm which caused Ruby to descent to the floor.

before she hit the floor, (Y/n) caught her bridal style, yet didn't put her own post-catch. Ruby placed her hands on (Y/n)'s shoulders then turned to Qrow."

"you did kinda tear up our courtyard. " she responded, causing (Y/n) to nod in agreement.

"yeah...i did didn't it?" he sighed out, offering a fist bump to the couple. "i'll catch ya later."
