Octavia Part 2: Unexpected Reactions

Start from the beginning

"...and that's where our receptionist, (Y/N), takes calls from potential clients. Their job is to write their information down and schedule appointments to meet with our boss, Blitzø."

Octavia flinched hard at the mention of her father's 'suitor.' She looked at you, desperate to find a way out of the tour. She was the one who wanted the tour, you sighed internally. You stepped up to Moxxie.

"Hey, I can take over from here," you said to him.

"But I was just—"

"I would like that very much!" Octavia said eagerly as she clapped her hands once, and strutted over to you. Moxxie looked insulted. You mouthed "sorry!" to him as he stalked away, annoyed.

"So, your name is (Y/N)?" Octavia asked you once Moxxie had left. You raised your eyebrows in surprise. You hadn't realized you hadn't told her your name.

"Uhm, yeah. That's me. Why did you come here again?" you asked.

Octavia's face was scrunched as she thought for a moment, then lit up as she remembered. Then it turned to slight disgust as she did. You found her rapid change in expressions cute. Cute? Get your head in the game, (Y/N)! you thought.

"I was worried—I mean, Dad said I needed to hang around more people my age." She blew a piece of hair that had fallen out of her face, annoyed. "I mentioned Loona, and he got all into this fucking state, saying he just had to bring me here." Octavia waved her hands in mock amusement as she recalled him dragging her to I.M.P. "He said he had met this 'charming young creature' who worked there that was also about my age. He mentioned that they also had an interest in the stars. My guess is he was talking about you." Octavia's white face visibly turned a pastel pink.

"He, uhm..." Octavia groaned in embarrassment. "...wanted me to invite you and Loona over for a 'play date.' Like I'm a fucking child. I'm not a kid anymore, DAD!" she shouted towards Blitzø's office door. You heard flirty bird noises coming from inside, followed by a desperate Blitzø clawing at the door. Octavia gave a squawk of disgust.

You took in her words, slowly. Her broken sentence when she started talking had you a bit confused, but if she was lying to you, it would be very easy to just check with Stolas. You turned back to Octavia, who was still a little pink. She was looking at you, expecting something. Loona had come into the main room and stood next to you. She was giving you a look with a raised eyebrow.

"Wait, are you asking me to...? I thought you didn't—"

You were about to start questioning Octavia again, but Loona punched your shoulder, shutting you up. "Ow..." you complained, wounded.

"We'd love to, Octavia, but there should be at least someone here to make sure to take calls and open the portals. I've got it; I used to have this idiot's job." Loona elbowed your ribs as she said that, but not hard enough that it would hurt.

You looked at Loona. She was accepting the invitation for you, while also making sure you would have the opportunity to be alone with Octavia. I guess it would be a good opportunity to talk to Octavia about...the thing. You shivered as the thought of her calling you a "good (Y/G)" echoed through your mind. You still weren't sure if you liked or hated it. You clenched your fists as you thought of how your hellhound body had made it so that others in Hell thought they could treat you like you were lesser-than. You were slightly more upset, now that you had the proper context given to you by Loona. Still, you had the chance to set Octavia right.

"Yeah, I can join you for...did you say playdate?" you said, remembering the strange wording that Stolas had supposedly given. Octavia grew red, and she held an expression of anger and shame, which must've been directed at her father. Gods damn it she's cute when she's mad, you thought.
