Loona Part 2: Hints

Start from the beginning

You went to sleep, dreaming of a blurry figure dropping you off of a balcony.

The next morning, you were the first to arrive at work. You were worried that you still needed to maintain a good impression, to try and make up for the fight that had happened. You still hadn't dared to look into the conference room. Not that you could; it had yellow caution tape preventing entry.

Moxxie and Millie came in together, and you took the opportunity to apologize profusely for your behaviour yesterday. They accepted your apology, and said that they had been told by Blitzø about your background. They sympathized with your plight, and offered to help in any way that they could.

"That's really nice of you, but just behaving the way you have been is good enough for me. I don't want to feel like a charity case. I'll be paying back Blitzø for any damage I've caused."

They nodded, and continued into the office.

4 fucking chairs. You thought and grumbled. Loona put me on the hook for four fucking chairs. Fucking whatever. It's the least I can do for her, since she kept my secret, and apologized to Blitzø so that I could keep this job. Was that really the first time she's apologized for beating somebody? Maybe it's because I ended up in the hospital. Gods, I hope she doesn't pity me...

Just then, Loona kicked open the entrance door, marched over to your desk, and slammed what appeared to be a 6-pottle pack of "Beelzejuice" onto your receptionist desk.

"This is for you." Loona said, smirking down at you as she crossed her arms across her chest proudly. You grabbed your tail from behind you to physically stop it from wagging. Shit. I definitely caught feelings that day.

"Oh, really? Thanks!" You tried to sound appreciative. Did Loona pity you? "I'm not sure if I can accept this though," you said as you tried to reject the gift. You weren't sure why. Maybe it was to make it seem like you were fine on your own, and that you didn't want her pity. "It probably wouldn't help to slow my body down right now, given I have a lot more healing to do."

Loona's ears drooped. "Oh. That's cool," she said in a tone of voice that played it off as fine. You couldn't help but notice her ears were still down though. They quickly flipped back up as she started speaking again.

"You know, I thought you were going to stop being a pushover," she said teasingly. Oh, thank the gods. I didn't want to make her feel bad, you thought. You felt your pulse quicken.

"I'd probably be more of a pushover if I accepted this." You joked back. WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU SAY THAT?! SHE GAVE YOU AN OUT! JUST ACCEPT THE GIFT! You were screaming internally.

Loona paused again, but her ears stayed up this time. "Yeah, you're probably right," she laughed. Your quickened pulse only got faster as you observed her smile. You could feel yourself blushing. You worried if it could be seen through your fur.

Over the course of the next few weeks, Loona made an effort to talk to you more. She was trying to mend what little relationship you had together as coworkers. Of course, you did the same. However, now knowing that you liked her, you might've tried to turn on what little charm you had, if you were brave enough. You tried to give her slack for when she was rude, physical, or on her phone. You both still slipped up and insulted each other from time to time, but you both also made it a point to apologize when it happened.

While you appreciated talking to her, it didn't help the growing feelings that you were trying to hide for, and from, her. You had become painfully aware of how your tail behaved, wagging being a new behaviour from you. You hated how it telegraphed how you were really feeling, and you were worried that Loona would notice it. Thankfully, you were always behind the receptionist desk, and Loona never appeared to.
