Death Won't Do Us Part (RWBY x malereader, Ruby x malereader.)

Beginning Of The Festival.

you remained still, just staring at the woman who slowly made her way through the area. her guard was up, her senses on high alert, et that doesn't matter if she can't see you. You have the element of surprise now, and you plan to exploit it.

'the snow is quite deep.' she thought to herself, her entire foot being encased in snow with each step.

'just a little bit closer...'

around the area, battles were raging on, with your team making a mental note to stick together in order to avoid a potential team up against one individual. your team had zero idea how well you were doing, or even if you were winning at all. but they had faith, especially as they noticed your aura hasn't too ka single spec of damage yet thanks to the big screen.

"hide and seek is boring... can we play something else?" she asked, still looking around for you.

'since you asked so nicely..'

you quickly stood up, the snow falling off your figure and ruining the camouflage. although that didn't matter much, because she had walked past you. she was completely unaware of where you were, or at the fact you had stood up and was slowly advancing upon her, maintaining the element of surprise.

but what were you going to do? well, it was quiet simple really. hit and run tactics would be the best to preserve aura, so that's what you'll do. plus your pretty fast, so doing so wont be that difficult.

so that's exactly what you did, turning your brisk walking pace into a full on sprit. by the time the crunching of snow registered in her mind it was too late at you planted a hard punch straight to her back, quickly backing off afterwards.

she turned around to hit you with her weapon which had reformed into a peculiar weapon. it wasn't an ordinary one by any means. instead of going to something like a sword, a club or even a staff, it instead turned into a pillow. yes. a goddamn pillow.

how in the fuck does a literal pillow turn into a rifle? and vice versa?? it outright dumbfounded you at the fact THAT was her weapon.

anyway, her attack completely missed you as you stepped backwards and out of reach. you did  widen your eyes at the unique weapon, yet didn't let that consume you when you lunged at your opponent to unleash a kick that was, unfortunately, blocked by the pillow.

although it seems hubris would be her downfall, as that block alone made her ell all high an mighty. it was clear, for whatever reason, that she thought it would have been an easy fight.

and it showed, because she instantly let down her guard. something you noticed. you raised an eyebrow at it, believing that it was a trap, but when you looked at the stupid smug grin you realised it wasn't.

so you exploited it, clearly confused. and how did you exploit that? by landing on your feet and sending your foot slamming straight into her stomach, causing her to fly backwards and slam into the mountain. said mountain rumbled at the impact, with a small amount of it actually crumbling.

'...what?' you thought, clearly confused over what just happened.

you remained still, blinking in utter confusion over the fact your opponent literally let down their guard because they managed to block one kick.

not only that, but it turned out....

"what a strike! that one kick alone has eliminated Violet Evergreen!"

"it just goes to show, never underestimate your opponent and never let down your guard! isn't that right professor?"

"indeed Oobleck. indeed."

'...well i'll take it, but i'm severely disappointed.'

with a silent sigh, you turned around and began making your way to the rest of the ongoing battle.

i'm pumping chapters out on my stories god damn-

anyway...

1. (Y/n) was so engrossed in team RWBY's fight he almost actually fell into the arena, but Onyx quickly pulled him back.

2. (Y/n) made the sign himself over the course of a few minutes.

3. Ruby has her own sign for (Y/n)'s team, but also one for just him.

4. the original plan was for (Y/n) to fight 3 people at once, but very quickly scrapped it.

5. (Y/n), as you can tell, doesn't use his semblance or gun much.

6. (Y/n)'s family is very experienced with the cold, so much so they went on holidays to the coldest place ever regularly.

7. (Y/n)'s a little saddened he had to leave his hunting ground so soon

8. he is extremely disappointed over his fight.

9. (Y/n) was heavily underestimated, all because he looked 'innocent and cute.'

10. Claire, Onyx and Alice had full faith in you.

11. the OG idea with your teammates would be that they never return after Beacon, but i might just change that.
