maybe it was the exhilaration on battle? either way, that one knockout alone seemed to have spelled the end for the opposing team, as they very quickly crumbled without their 4th. so much so, that team RWBY was able to commence a team-wide attack that allowed Yang to get a a triple knockout with one solid punch.
the entire coliseum erupted into rapture at the end of the fight, but none were as hardcore as you, and by that i mean nobody else was actively jumping up and down in pure glee over the result.
"we seem to be ahead of schedule!" one of the commentators emit, causing silence to linger. "we have time for one more match before the break!"
once more, the entire coliseum roared.
everyone eagerly awaited for the next two teams to be announced, minus you as you were way to busy waving at Ruby and blowing kisses at her, something she returned. although she was clearly embarrassed due to it being infront of so many people, even if they weren't paying attention.
"right then, come on (Y/n), lets go." Onyx spoke, standing up and lightly grabbing your arm, knowing you wouldn't hear him otherwise.
you turned to him and tilted your head to the side in confusion.
"we're up next."
Ruby, who was able to hear the fact you were up next due to the commentators announcement of it, very, and i mean very, quickly left the arena with her team in tow. why? because she wanted to watch your team's fight, of course!
-----------
you stood there besides your teammates, feeling a little nervous at all the people watching. it didn't help that when you thought about it, there were probably millions more watching from their homes.
you wondered if your parents were watching? you hadn't spot them among the crowd when you were watching RWBY's fight so you assumed they weren't here, but at home.
you looked over to where Ruby sat, the same place you were in, and she blow you a kiss before wishing you luck underneath her breath, knowing you most likely wouldn't here her over the crowd.
seemingly able to sense your nerves, Alice placed her hand on your shoulder, causing you to look up at her.
"don't worry leader. you got this."
her words processed in your mind and you swiftly nodded your head in response. right, you had your teammates here, you'll be fine. then again, you have no doubt you can do quite well even on your own.
looking over towards the other side off the arena, more specifically towards your opposition, you stared them down, your tail swaying slowly from side to side before wrapping around your own waist.
one of your enemies noticed your gaze, giving you a playful wink before turning to her teammates and chatting.
they were discussing what to do. they weren't aware you could hear them. you could hear everything they were saying.
"that faunus is looking at us."
"he's cute."
"don't underestimate him, we don't know anything about them."
"you worry too much! we just gotta divide and conquer. we should take the cute boy down first."
"i disagree. get the big goy then the red eyed girl. they seem weird."
"agreed."
you resisted the urge to smirk, after all, you know exactly who they're going after, who they're going to target, why wouldn't you smirk?
