"I don't think I've ever met anyone like you," he says, smiles at me, and turns back to look at the stars. My heart is racing.
"Oh my gosh , Lando touched my cheek. The teenage girl inside me is freaking out."
"Good answer, Mr. Number 4."
"Oh shit, did I just say that out loud?"
Lando laughs. "Mr. Number 4?" he asks.
"Yeah, it's kind of what my best friend calls you when we talk about you."
He laughs harder.
"I've heard people call me many things, but not that."
I laugh with him.
I lay down on the yacht, staring up at the stars, and a few moments later, Lando lies next to me. He turns his face toward me, and I do the same. We just stare at each other.
"How weird would it be if I kissed him right now?" I smile to myself at the thought.
"Why are you smiling?" he asks.
"It's nothing," I say, looking back up at the stars.
Suddenly, I feel a hand take mine. Lando's fingers gently wrap around mine. My heart is pounding.
The sound of the ocean calms me, and the breeze sends a shiver down my spine.
"Are you cold?" he asks.
"Just a little," I reply.
He gets up, heads to the back of the yacht, and returns with a blanket. He sits next to me, throws the blanket over our shoulders, and pulls me closer, resting my head on his shoulder.
"What the heck is happening? I don't want this moment to end."
I glance up at him and admire his facial features and jawline. His curly hair, perfectly styled into a mullet. "Wow, is this a dream come true or what?"
As I smile, he looks down at me. "You're smiling for no reason again," he says.
"I have my reasons, Mr. Number 4."
He chuckles, and our eyes lock. I can smell his perfume, and then he takes my face in his hand, pulling me closer. Our lips are mere moments away from each other, and I can feel his breath on my lips.
"Can I kiss you?" he asks.
I lean up and press my lips to his. He deepens the kiss, pulling me closer, and I can feel the intensity building between us. I sit up, and he shifts me onto his lap, my legs straddling him. His hands grip my waist, his fingers brushing against my skin, while my hands tangle in his hair. The electricity from his touch runs through me, and my heart races in my chest.
Our moment is broken by the sound of my phone dinging. I pull away, sitting back next to him, relieved for the interruption.
"It's my best friend," I say, trying to shake off the heat of the kiss.
"Go ahead," he responds.
I look at the message from Cadey: Hey girl. I'm heading back to the hotel now with Mr. Italian Man. What happens in Monaco stays in Monaco. Try not to come home too early. See you later!
I start laughing, shaking my head. "This girl..." I say to myself.
"What's happening?" Lando asks, clearly curious.
"My best friend basically told me not to come back to the hotel... if you know what I mean," I explain with a smirk.
He chuckles, then casually says, "Well, I guess you'll have to come back to my place then."
