S's POV

-Inflight intercom-
"Ladies and gentlemen, BA welcomes you to Monaco. The local time is 6:28 pm. For your safety and the safety of those around you, please remain seated with your seatbelt fastened and keep the aisle(s) clear until we are..."

I slowly wake up from the intercom noise and poke Cadey on the arm. "We're here. Wake up." She moans at me and turns her head the other way.
"Cadey! Wake up!"
She jolts forward. "I'm up. I'm up." She takes her eye cover off, yawns, and we both look out the window at the night lights of Monaco as we land.

We get off the plane, grab our bags from the luggage carousel, go through airport security and head outside to catch the airport shuttle to our hotel.

When we make it to the hotel, we check in at the lobby, and the concierge hands us our room key. Cadey and I are sharing a room. "Floor 25, Room 2504."

"Room number 2504... 04... my lucky number."

"Skye? Are you listening to me?" Cadey snaps her fingers in front of my eyes.
"Stop fantasizing about Mr. Number 4 and let's head up to the room." I blush and smile. The concierge giggles.
"Yes ma'am. Lead the way." I say to Cadey.

We get up to the room, and it's beautiful and spacious with an amazing view. We put our suitcases on the bed and neatly pack our things into the cupboard.

Cadey turns to me. "I know you're probably exhausted, but do you want to go out for a drink? Get some Monaco air in our lungs?"
I pause for a moment.
"I think I can scrape some energy together for my bestie," I stretch, yawn, and peek at her with one eye open. She starts laughing.

"Of course we can go. It's our first night. We can party till the sun comes up.", I say.
"Great, let's take a shower and freshen up, then we can go find a local bar." While Cadey freshens up, I check on the internet. A small local bar pops up about 15 minutes away. The vibe and look seem comfy and very "Monaco." It doesn't look too fancy either.

"Girl, is that what you're wearing?" Cadey points at me, eyeing my favorite shirt, jean jacket, torn jeans, and high wedge sneakers.
"Uhm, yes..."

We are completely opposites when it comes to fashion choices. She throws on a cute summer dress, white sneakers, and a black jean jacket.

"Fine, whatever you feel comfortable in.", she scoffs.
"I'm not trying to impress anyone or find a man. I'm comfortable, thank you," I say, and she shakes her head at me.

We head out and decide to take a walk to the little bar. The buildings, the sidewalk, everything is just as I imagined it to be. Wow, I still can't believe I'm finally here. It's really a dream come true.

I hear a rumble in the distance and grab Cadey's arm, stopping dead in my tracks.
"Do you hear that?"
"What?"
"That sound. That can only be a McLaren 720S." My eyes light up, and I get a little shake of excitement.

Cadey looks at me and shakes her head. "I will never understand your obsession with cars."

We arrive at the little bar. It's lowkey and not very busy, which is nice because I would love a peaceful evening with my friend.

The waitress greets us and takes us to a table on the patio. Cadey and I both order cocktails and enjoy the night air.

I hear the McLaren 720S sound echoing in the distance again, and I smile. Oh, how I love the sound.

"Wait a minute..."
"What is it, Skye?"
"The McLaren, it's getting clos..."

I didn't finish my sentence before this beautiful gunmetal grey McLaren with orange accents pulls up and parks in front of the bar.

My eyes widen, and I almost choke on my drink. A curly-haired man gets out from behind the driver's seat and hands the keys to the valet. Another guy gets out of the passenger seat. I grab Cadey's arm and start to breathe heavily.

"Cadey. Cadey!" I whisper. "That's... that's Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri..."
Cadey looks that way. "Oh wow, it's Mr. Number 4 himself. Omw, Skye, this is your moment. You can go meet him."

I look at Cadey and make a face at her. "They chose a little bar that isn't busy and away from the masses. I really don't think they want to be bothered by fangirls a few days before their big race here."

I turn around and look at them as they walk up the sidewalk to come into the bar. They both walk past us, and Lando looks up. Our eyes meet. It felt like slow motion as he walked by, not breaking eye contact and smiling at me. They disappear into the back corner.

"I still can't believe I saw Lando and that he looked at me and smiled. I can seriously drop dead now and die the happiest woman." I chuckle out loud.

"What's going on in that head of yours?" Cadey asks as she sips her cocktail.
"Oh, nothing."
"Yeah, right." She finishes her cocktail.

"It would be great to go dancing for a bit. This cocktail just put me in the mood to move my body now." She sways from side to side and waves down the waitress for another drink.

"I'll go find out by the bar if there are any nightclubs nearby where we can go dancing." I gesture to Cadey and head towards the bar. I stand and wait as the bartender finishes up. I look around at the decor and the expensive bottles of alcohol on the wall behind the bar. Through a narrow section, I can see two guys sitting at a table, all reserved and private. As I look that way, a pair of eyes are staring at me again. I look away quickly.

"Yes ma'am, how may I help you?"
"Hi, yes. Do you know of any nice nightclubs around here close by to go dancing?"

A voice behind me answers. "There's actually a nice club about 5 minutes from here. If you go out and turn left, just up the road you'll see the purple sign."

I jump a bit and move to the side. My knees go weak. It's Lando.

"Skyye, keep it together. Don't go into full fangirl mode now."

"Uhm, thank you for the info. I appreciate it." My voice crackles as I look at him and answer. I swallow loudly. Oh gosh, I hope he didn't hear that.

"No problem at all." He gestures to the bartender. "Please put their drinks on my tab."
"Oh no, you really don't have to."
"Don't worry about it. Enjoy your evening." He walks away and heads back to the table at the back.
