L's POV
I went back to the stage after the interaction with Skye. Her name is Skye. I smile to myself.
"What was that all about?" Oscar asks as we walk to the garage to get ready for the race.
I guess I have to fill him in on everything that happened up until now. As we walk, I tell him everything—from the night at the bar, to the club, to what just happened. He punches me in the arm.
"All this and you only tell me now, mate?" He looks at me with disappointment but smiles and puts his arm around my neck. "Let's go race."
We get into our race suits, put on our helmets, and get ready to take off.
"Hey, Osc?"
"Yeah, mate?"
"Do you think she will text me?"
"I'm sure she will." He gives me a fist bump, and we head off to the starting line.
--
I watch as Oscar walks up to the podium for P2. I'm so proud of him and so lucky to be his teammate.
"Wooohoooo! Go Oscar!" I shout through the crowd as he pops open the champagne and sprays Carlos in the face. I head back to the garage as the area starts to clear, and my race engineer stops me.
"Well done with P4, Lando. It was a tough race, but you guys are doing great out there."
"Thanks. I hope we can both be on the podium together soon.", I reply.
I head into my driver's room. There's a knock on the door.
"Come in."
It's Oscar, Carlos, and Charles.
They look at me like they've just heard the juiciest gossip.
"Oscar, you didn't?"
Carlos runs over to me and sits down next to me on the couch. "Oh yes, he did. Don't worry, your secret is safe with us. When do we get to meet this mysterious Skye?"
Carlos leans in with a huge grin on his face.
"I'm not even sure if I'll see her again. I gave her my number, but all I can do now is wait to see if she'll text me."
"Oh, you poor man," Charles says, mocking me. "You really don't have much experience with girls, do you?" Carlos and Oscar burst out laughing.
"Do you know where she's staying or how long she's here for?" Charles asks.
I shrug. "No idea," I say, and Charles gives me a sympathetic look.
"I guess all we can do is wait," he says.
"Okay, I can't take this anymore," Oscar says, breaking the tension. "Are you guys up for some celebrations tonight?"
Carlos nods, and Charles gives a thumbs up.
Oscar looks at me. "Come on, Lando. We need to celebrate. We're all in the top 5 today."
"Yeah, okay, let's go out and have a party."
"Where are we going?" Carlos asks.
Oscar gets a mischievous look on his face. "We can go to that club we went to last week. The VIP lounge was pretty good there, and the vibe is great."
"Maybe Skye will be there".
