S's POV

The security guard returns and tells me, "You can go in, Miss." He then shows us into the VIP Lounge. Cadey and I walk in, and I spot Lando standing by the table talking to Oscar. He turns around, notices me, and walks over. Placing his hand on my waist, he guides me forward.

"Everyone, this is Skye," Lando says. Oscar, Carlos, and Charles are sitting next to women I assume are their girlfriends. Lando leans over to Cadey. "Sorry, love, I didn't get your name."

"I'm Cadey."

"And this is her friend, Cadey." Everyone greets us with a friendly "Hello."

The girl sitting next to Carlos comes up to me, giving both Cadey and me a big hug. "It's so nice to finally meet you, Skye. We've heard a lot about you."

"You have?"

"Yes," she smiles.

"Has Lando been talking about me to his friends? I can't believe this."

Cadey looks at me and pulls me aside. "I feel like the odd one out here. I'm going downstairs to dance with my Italian man." I can't help but giggle at her statement.

"No, don't go. It won't be the same without you."

"I'll meet you back at the hotel later. Or not." She smiles. "It was nice meeting everyone," she says, "but I'm heading downstairs to meet up with a guy friend of mine. Please take care of Skye for me." Lando nods in agreement, and she heads downstairs.

Lando sits next to Oscar on the couch and gestures for me to join him. I sit down, feeling a little awkward. This is a whole new scene for me, and I'm terrified. First, I'm hanging out with four of the most famous F1 drivers, and second, Lando is sitting right next to me.

Lando leans over and whispers in my ear, "You look absolutely beautiful, love." His breath sends shivers down my spine. "Thank you," I reply, feeling my cheeks warm. He hands me a tequila shot. "Here, this will help with the nerves."

I take the shot, unsure if one will actually help, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. I giggle at my own thoughts, and Lando looks at me, smiling. We continue enjoying the evening, having a few drinks and chatting with the rest of the group.

After a while, I'm feeling more comfortable and wondering what Cadey is up to. I walk over to the railing to see if I can spot her downstairs. I find her dancing and having a good time.

Suddenly, I feel strong hands on my hips, a jolt of electricity shooting through my body as I feel his chest press against my back.

"Do you want to go somewhere quiet for a bit?" Lando asks.

I nod, and he takes my hand, leading me outside the club.

His driver picks us up, and we drive toward the Marina. The car ride is filled with an awkward silence. Honestly, I don't know what to say, and I find myself in a car with a man—famous no less—that I barely know.

"You look uncomfortable?" he asks, breaking the silence. He pours champagne and hands me a glass.

"I'm not uncomfortable. Just trying to understand what's happening," I say, taking a sip of my champagne.

Lando looks at his phone, glancing at the lock screen with a smile. "This artwork you sent me is truly amazing. Do you work as an artist?"

"I'm a graphic designer for a big media company in New York. Art like this is just a hobby," I explain.

"I really love it. Thank you. It definitely brightened my day when I saw it."

It's kind of sweet—and a little embarrassing—that he actually read the email I sent.
