"Should I send it? Shouldn't I send it?"

Ahhhh! Why is this so frustrating!?" I say to myself, staring at my laptop screen.

"Skyyyeee! We're going to be late and miss our flight. Would you hurry up already!" Cadey shouts from the bottom of the stairs.

"Uhm, I'm coming, I'm just looking for my hoodie. You know I can't go without it!" I say, spotting my hoodie lying on the bed.

"Send it! What do I have to lose? It's not like he will ever see it." I click send and I close my laptop, grab my iPad and hoodie, and head downstairs where Cadey is waiting for me.

"Took you long enough, damn. Do you have everything you need?" she asks.

"Yeah, I think so," I replied.

We head to the car where Cadey's mom is waiting to take us to the airport. Cadey is my best friend, but she's not as into cars as I am. Still, she's supportive and agreed to go with me to my very first F1 race. I've been saving up for so long, and I'm so damn excited that I can't contain it anymore. We're going to watch the one in Monaco which is a ten-hour flight from New York. We decided to make a holiday out of it. Two whole weeks of sun, beach, and cars—what more could I ask for?

I grab Cadey by the back of the shoulders and shake her back and forth. "OMW! I can't wait anymore. This is going to be the longest flight, but it will be so worth it."

She looks back at me and smiles.

The only thing I'm bummed about is that we couldn't get grandstand tickets, so we had to settle for general admission. It kinda puts a damper on my spirits because the chances of meeting "him" are slimmer than ever, but I won't lose faith.

"Morning, girls. Are you ready for your trip?" Cadey's mom greets us as we get into the car.

"Morning Mom. Oh, you have no idea. I don't think Skyye slept a wink last night," Cadey says, gesturing toward me. Her mom gives a soft chuckle.

The airport drive is about an hour away. I put on my earphones, listen to some '90s music, and watch the trees swoosh by while Cadey and her mom chat away. The thought of the email still lingers in the back of my mind. I'm overthinking again, so I quickly push the thought aside.

Cadey and I greet her mom as we walk into the airport and head toward security. We check our bags in and make our way to the boarding gate. We still have about 45 minutes before boarding, so we grab a coffee and sit down to wait.

"I can't believe this is finally happening. You've been talking about this for the last three years," Cadey says, giving me a soft smile.

"I can't believe it either. I'm really so excited."

We sit on the airport seats, waiting for our flight and just enjoy the last moment we have before the excitement begins.

"Flight BA1245 to Monaco, now boarding at gate A12," a voice announces over the intercom.

"That's us," I say. "Here we go!"
