I thought they would get offended with my question but they laughed it off.
"Baka may boyfriend ulit 'yan kaya mo tinatago." nakangising biro ni Aiden kaya halos masuntok ko siya.
Bawal talaga ang pikon sa amin dahil baka magkasuntukan. Si Aiden ilang beses ko nang muntik masuntok nang seryoso.
I smirked at them before turning to my cellphone again but our professor entered. It made me sigh heavily and turn my phone off.
That's how our morning went—attending classes and laughing with my friends. It was only for a moment though because the moment our blockmates told us that we needed to do our worksheet at the pavilion, our laughs stopped.
"Text mo sina Ram na hindi tayo sasabay sa kanilang mag-lunch." Elijah told me as we walked out of the engineering building.
"Hindi naman talaga tayo makakasabay sa kanila dahil Tuesday ngayon." I said but I still took my phone out.
It's Tuesday today, which means our lunch time doesn't match some of our friends' breaks. We only get to eat lunch together when it's Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
"I hope next sem our schedules would match." rinig kong bulong ni Red sa tabi ko.
"You won't eat your lunch yet?" Jam asked the moment we reached the part where they were seated.
"Mamaya na."
We started doing the worksheet to finish it early since we heard some of them complaining already. Yung iba nagugutom na pero may ibang tinatamad lang talaga.
"Ang ganda talaga ng mga nursing student. Ang lilinis tignan."
My gaze went from the papers in front of me to the people some of our blockmates were looking at.
"Kita mo 'yung mahaba ang buhok? Popormahan ko 'yan." I let out a sarcastic chuckle as I watched them looking like they were looking for their prey.
"Ayaw nila sa mga engineering student, mukha daw mga babaero." sabat ng isa sa mga babae naming kaklase kaya napataas ang kilay ko.
"I can change for them." nagtawanan ang lahat dahil sa sinabi ni Jam.
Nakakatawa dahil hindi niya man lang itinanggi.
Napatingin ulit ako sa mga babaeng pinag-uusapan nila at nahuling nakatingin ang isa sa kanila. I grinned at the woman for a few seconds only to stop when I saw a familiar man walking in my peripheral vision.
Mas lalo akong napangisi nang makita kung sino iyon. I smiled at him, while he on the other hand, was just looking at me. He was with his friends, at isa sa kanila ay ang sumuntok sa akin kaya biglang nawala ang ngiti ko.
Inilibot ko na lamang ang paningin sa pavilion at napansin na halo-halo at nanggaling sa iba't-ibang department ang mga nandito. There are some nursing, architecture, engineering, education students, etc.
Oo nga pala, nasa pavilion kami. This part of our campus is the place where students usually spend their time. Some are waiting for their next class, some are just gossiping, and some are studying or doing their worksheet like we are doing right now.
"I'm hungry." rinig kong bulong ni Aiden kaya parang naramdaman ko rin ang gutom.
"I told you we can eat our lunch first. Bakit kasi nagmamadali kayo?" Bryan said.
"We need to pass this before three. We don't have enough time."
"Pwede naman kasing kumain habang ginagawa ito."
Umiling ako dahil ayaw kong kumakain na may ginagawang worksheet. I'll surely get distracted and I might give my attention to the food the whole time.
Despite feeling hungry, we continued with what we were doing until I saw my phone lighting up because of a message coming from someone. I took it to see who it was.
