Oh great! Alice left the door cracked so everybody heard that I'm a monster! How could my own family do this to me?
I run into the forest and run blindly. I don't care where I'm going, I just want to get away from here. After about half an hour, I know I'm probably around 40 miles away. I'm faster than a human, but not as fast as a vampire.
I decide to just lay down and sob. Why does everything always happen to me? Why did my dad have to make me think nobody cared? Why was I born in the first place? My parents just couldn't have waited a little longer.
I lay there crying for probably an hour before I hear footsteps. Human ones. I climb up a tree as fast as I can. I hear the footsteps getting closer until I can see the person. He looks about nineteen and he has blond hair and a pretty handsome baby face. I know immediately who this is. My mom went to high school with him, his name is Mike. I saw him in a yearbook she had.
I watch him for a moment before he disappears. After he's been gone for around ten minutes, I sit in the tree and start to sob again. It's around twilight when I hear a voice calling my name. "Renesmee!" It shouts. I know immediately who it is. Emmett. Should I let him find me? Would he take me back to my mom? Surely they wouldn't let her yell at me again.
"Emmett?" I whisper. Soon he comes into view. "Renesmee. Get down from there," He says. So I do. He immediately hugs me. I make sure he can't see my eyes.
"She was right Emmett. I'm a monster," I say in a shaky voice. Emmett looks sad. "No Renesmee, you're not a monster. They wanted you to come home and let everyone see you. They're the monsters." I start to sob into his chest. "Shh Renesmee. It's all right," He says, patting my back. "Can we go home now? I think you need a meal and a hot shower," He asks. I nod my head. Emmett picks me up and runs.
I've always loved this feeling. Right now, it isn't my sadness that's bringing tears to my eyes, it's the pure force of the run. It's amazing. It feels free and wild. If I could run like this, I would never let my troubles catch me because I would simply be too fast for them.
