Chapter Twenty-Two

Soon, many teenagers in uniforms started stepping in the classroom and filling up the desks, but not before they gawked at Katsuki's presence. He felt uncomfortable under their gazes, even when they would be sat, they still stared, whispering to one another. Katsuki opted to look towards the window as more students started to come in.

Denki noticed Katsuki's discomfort, "You okay?"

Katsuki shrugged as best he could, "Just kinda weird."

Denki hummed, "Sorry, dude. I'll tell them to stop when it's time for training."

Katsuki nodded.

Just then, a uniform walked up to them. Katsuki was incredibly confused, thinking he was going crazy for a moment. How can he see a set of clothes walking by themselves, that was, until the uniform began to speak, "Kaminari, you're in my seat." It must have been a trick of the light, once Katsuki gave his attention to the uniform, he could clearly see it was a girl with pale skin, white and unkempt hair that draped just past her shoulders, long white lashes, and silverish blue colored eyes. Katsuki thought she was very beautiful and attractive.

"My bad," Denki stood up, pulling the seat back and gesturing for the uniform to sit.

"Right," the girl said, sounding distracted and staring at Katsuki. She leaned into Denki, Katsuki catching the mumbles, "Holy fuck, is that Bakugo?"

"Yeah?" Denki whispered back, confused. It was strange to Katsuki, it almost was as if Denki wasn't looking at her. "Why are we whispering?" The girl lifted her sleeve and smacked her hand against Denki's arm. He winced, rubbing his arm, "Ow. What was that for?"

"Shh! He's gonna hear you."

Denki shook his head and let go of the chair, facing Katsuki, "Bakugo, this is Hagakure. She sits in front of you and is invisible, if you couldn't tell."

"Ah," Katsuki smirked at Denki's joke and looked at the girl, nodding, "Hello."

She froze, her mouth slightly open and her eyes wide. She then closed and opened her eyes and stretched her mouth as far as she could, closing them back up and proceeding to stare at Katsuki normally.

Katsuki's face formed into one of concern, "Are you alright?" He turned to look at Denki, who nudged Tooru's sleeve.

"Sorry," she muttered, "Uh, hi. Nice to see you back."

He nodded.

She returned the nod, putting her hand on her chest, lifting her middle finger from the fist she made, directing it towards Katsuki.

Katsuki furrowed his brows as he quickly gazed down to her hands. She then sat in her seat, finally turning away from him.

Denki leaned over Katsuki's seat, "I kinda don't wanna start school. I hate math, but you wouldn't understand since you always got good grades in math."

"Kami!" A pink fluff flew on to Denki's back, "Bakugo! Holy shit!"

"Hello, Ashido."

"Get off!" Denki shrieked.

"Come on, Ashido," a third voice came. Hanta placed his hands on Mina's shoulders, peeling her back away from Denki. He nodded to Katsuki, releasing one hand to rest it on Katsuki's shoulder instead, "Good to see you back, Bakugo."

Katsuki pursed his lips, refraining from wincing, "Good to see you, Sero."

Denki noticed the small twitch in Katsuki's eyebrows, "Yo, he's still recovering," swatting Hanta's arm away.

Hanta backed away quickly, "Sorry, man."

Katsuki shook his head, expressing to Hanta that it was alright. The three teenagers went into conversation, Katsuki sat and listened. The girl that sat in front of him turned in her chair and spoke a few words herself. Katsuki watched her, how her hair bounced whenever she bobbed her head. How her lashes would brush against her brows, they seemed to tickle her, she would trace over her eyebrows with her fingers in the midst of the conversation, but it didn't seem to be an uncommon occurrence. She was beautiful, though she would do odd things that Katsuki still couldn't quite understand.
