Episode 13: Traitors and Cheats

Author's note: This is one of the episodes I wrote to add to the story. It's the second of two this season. It should help with the Torsten storyline, which is a three-episode arc! Two of them are in this season, and the final one is next season.

(Bodil sneaks into Hiccup's hut. Toothless wakes up slightly, starts to move but sees its Bodil and falls back asleep. Bodil leans down and kisses Hiccup on the forehead. He wakes up and blinks up at her. Then smiles.)

Hiccup: Hey.

Bodil: Hi. Wanna go on a little morning recon walk?

Hiccup: Yeah. (Bodil and Hiccup are seen walking through the forest holding hands at sunrise.)

Bodil: Smell that? Fresh morning dew.

Hiccup: Yeah, yeah, we used to sneak out really early in the mornings just to see the sunrises.

Bodil: Yeah. You know, I used to think nothing good could ever come from a morning like this.

Hiccup: What? You? Pessimistic? No...

Bodil: Haha, I just always thought a good day always needed a bad thing to balance it out.

Hiccup: Not today... today the sun is shining and the world is beautiful and perfect because you and I are finally together. And you're finally mine and mine alone. (She smiles widely and they lean in to kiss. All of a sudden a terrible terror flies in between them.) And I spoke too soon. (It gives Bodil a letter.)

Bodil: Oh it's from Torsten. (Hiccup frowns.) He wants to talk... alone.

Astrid: I don't like this.

Hiccup: Neither do I. We have no idea what he wants. Why wouldn't he just come here? What if he needs help? What if you need help?

Tuffnut: What if he tries to force you to marry him? And wakes you up in the dead of night leads you to the person who officiates those and tries to force you to say the words by threatening someone you love.

Bodil: Tuff that was you three weeks ago. And you just threatened Hiccup with Toothless present. Not to mention you dragged me to Fishlegs.

Tuffnut: Oh yeah. And it would have worked if it wasn't for those pesky dragons.

Snotlout: I for one think it's fine if she goes alone.

Bodil: Thank you Snotlout—

Snotlout: And if she happens to not survive that's just one less person to worry about. (Toothless and Hiccup both glare at him.) But maybe you should take back up. (He spits out nervously)

Bodil: I— H, come here. (Bodil pulls him out of the view and hearing range of the others) I know you're worried.

Hiccup: I just think I should come with you. You could be in danger.

Bodil: I promise you Hiccup the minute I need help I will send for you. You trust me?

Hiccup: Of course I do.

Bodil: Then believe me when I say when I need you— you'll know.

Hiccup: Ok. (Bodil gave him a small smile and pulled him to her so she could kiss him. Cut to Bodil mounting Aquantis.)

Astrid: Hey, be careful.

Bodil: I will. (She and Hiccup give each other a knowing nod. And she takes off. Toothless growls in concern.)

Hiccup: I know bud. I'm worried too. (Astrid, Toothless, and Hiccup look anxious as they watch Bodil and Aquantis get farther and farther into the distance.)
