"How are you feeling baby?" Wilmer asks before handing me a cool glass of water as I lay on the couch.

"A little better, I hate getting blood tests though. My arm always aches for hours" I reply with a smile as I push myself up to sit straight.

"The doctor said they would give us a call this afternoon with the results, so hopefully we can get a diagnosis" he states reassuringly as I make eye contact with him, worry written across my face. "Baby, you're gonna be okay" he adds before placing a hand on my shoulder, squeezing gently for comfort.

"I hope so, I just don't know what could be wrong" I reply with my head dropping to look at our daughter who's busy crawling around the floor.

Eva - who's named after her godmother Eva Longoria - is sixteen months old and has recently started her attempts at walking. Wilmer and I can't believe how quickly she's growing up, it felt like yesterday when I gave birth to her.

"Can you believe how big she's getting?" I ask as I smile from ear to ear, admiring our daughter.

"I know, our little girl" Wilmer replies as he walks over to Eva, pulling her into his embrace as he tickles her stomach.

Eva has a laugh exactly like mine, but she has Wilmer's dark hair. She's the most beautiful little girl I've ever laid eyes on, honestly.

"I'm gonna go grab her blanket from upstairs, I'll be right back" Wilmer announces before standing up off the floor, sitting Eva opposite me.

"You gonna come over to mommy?" I ask in my cutest baby voice, making Eva smile and giggle as she wriggles herself onto her knees, with one hand gripping the table beside her.

"Oh my God. Babe come here! Hurry!" I shout for Wilmer in excitement as I watch our daughter pull herself up from the ground, both hands now holding onto the table.

"What's the emergency?" Wilmer asks as he runs into the living room in a panic.

"Eva's about to take her first steps, get the camera out!" I squeal, throwing my arms out to encourage Eva over. "Oh my God I can't believe this. Are you recording?" I ask with excitement as Eva slowly shuffles her way along the table edge, banging her tiny hands against the table as she lets out little mumbles.

"Yes baby" Wilmer replies with a laugh as he watches me squirm in my seat, clapping my hands as our daughter edges closer and closer to me.

"That's it baby girl, keep going!" I say with a smile, my arms now elongated and ready to catch Eva in my arms.

With a few extra steps, Eva wobbles over, falling right into my grasp.

"Yaaaay! Good job baby girl!" I shout as I stand to my feet, throwing Eva up in the air and catching her as her little legs wriggle in mid air.

Wilmer ends the recording and lifts Eva from my arms to congratulate her.

"Well done my clever girl!" he announces as he holds Eva against his chest, with one hand supporting her bottom and the other holding her head as he gently kisses her forehead.

In that very moment the phone rings, grabbing our attention.

"I feel sick" I sigh, suddenly feeling nervous. I know it's the doctor calling with my results.

"Baby it'll be okay, I'll talk to the doctor" Wilmer says as he sits Eva down on the floor before placing his hand on my trembling body.

"Hello? Yes this is Mr Valderrama. The results said what?" Wilmer says down the phone, his face looking surprised and shocked which only worries me.
