Last time, Serena manages to keep Pokémon Hunter J's Pokémon in check with a battle until Officer Jenny arrives. Serena admits she was scared and collapsed, and when Ash helped her back up, they pull into a hug. A memory is unlocked in Serena when they pull away.
A while back, at Professor Oak's Summer Camp
SERENA: Wh- where is everybody?
A bush near her rustles, and a Poliwag jumps out.
SERENA: Ahh!
Serena trips and falls over in surprise and hurts her leg.
SERENA: *Starts crying* I knew I didn't want to come to this camp. I knew it! *Cries out* Mommy!
The same bush rustles, and Serena closes her eyes in fright, tears streaming down her face. Instead of a Pokémon, though, a boy's head pops up.
BOY: Poliwag?
Then, the boy turns and sees Serena sitting on the ground, crying.
ASH: Hey, what are you doing, why are you crying? I'm Ash, who are you?
SERENA: I- I hurt my leg...
Ash walks over and pulls out a blue handkerchief and wraps it tightly around her leg.
ASH: There! Now here's a good luck charm.
Ash starts waving his hands around the place Serena hurt.
ASH: Feel better, feel better, right away!
SERENA: *Tries to stand up but can't* Ow! It's no use, I can't stand up,
Ash stands up and offers Serena his hand.
ASH: Don't give up until it's over!
While Serena's hand falters a bit, Ash grabs it and pulls her into a hug. Surprised, Serena steps away.
ASH: See? You stood! *Grins* now let's get back to the campsite.
Hand in hand, Ash and Serena slowly walk back to camp, Serena in awe of the boy who just helped her.
