Chapter 3

JK: There.. Come... let's go off to sleep. Don't want you to start coughing again. You sure you're ok?

Even with the words "married couple" doing the rounds in his head, Taehyung does fall asleep soon enough, Jungkook's presence always having a calming effect on his nerves.

The next morning, Jungkook wakes up feeling empty, and he immediately knows that Taehyung is not by his side. By now, he's come to realise that he tends to feel a vacuum when he wakes up alone, without his hyung beside him. It's been happening ever since Taehyung moved out of the dorms and went to stay in his apartment. For the first week he couldn't really understand what was wrong with him, what the sinking feeling was, and why he felt so unsettled in the mornings. Only when he stayed over at Taehyung's one night and woke up feeling happy and full the next morning did he realise that it was the boy who was missing from him. It confused him a little, but then he realised that it's because they always cuddle and suddenly they're not sleeping together anymore and that's why it feels weird. A small voice inside him tells him that he's not supposed to feel so hurt at the realisation, but he ignores it, as always, because it's Taehyung, and anything related to Taehyung has always affected him pretty intensely, ever since they've become friends.

So he does what he's always done, gets up, brushes his teeth, does his morning routine and sets out to look for his missing piece...missing hyung, he means.

JK: Hey shorty, where's he?

JM: He's at a meeting with the producers

JK: Meeting? About Soop?

JM: That's what he said

SJ: How the fuck do you know who's the he Jungookah is talking about?

JM: Its Jungkook, he's only ever looking for

SJ: Taehyung

JM: Yeah

SJ: (under his breath) Idiot

JK: You said something?

SJ: Want breakfast?

JK: Has Tae eaten?

SJ: Oh Lord!

JM: Seriously. The drama. I need someone to film this and show this on national television. I guarantee the highest TRPs. The name should be "The Boy With Many Talents but No Brains"

JK: What the fuck is wrong with you two?

Jin is busy rolling on the sofa with laughter. Jimin joins him.

JK: Bunch of weirdos.

SJ: Says you. Come, eat. Yes, Tae has eaten. I made him.

JK: Ok.. it was a really simple question, I don't understand you guys sometimes

JM: Trust me, the feeling is mutual

JK: Get lost shorty

JM: I'm gonna kill you today

JK: Later, gotta eat first

Till Taehyung comes back about an hour later, Jungkook is roaming around the dorm, extremely restless while Jimin and Jin are just stealing glances at each other and laughing at some inside joke that Jungkook doesn't get. And he doesn't want to either. Something doesn't feel right, and he doesn't know what. So he just mindlessly wanders around and then sits on the couch that has a direct view of the door. There's no fun going to the gym if Taehyung's not there to disturb him while he works out. As soon as he spots the familiar figure walking in through the door, his smile is automatically back on his face, and it just grows wider as the boy comes straight to him to ruffle his hair, and flop down on the couch beside him.

Suddenly Jungkook feels that everything is right with the world again, but he doesn't understand why. Well, as long as the restlessness is gone!

JK: Why'd they call you so early in the morning?

V: They didn't

JK: Jimin said you were meeting the Soop people?

V: Jimin?

JK: Jimin hyung

V: Good. Yes, I was. But they didn't call me, I called them and asked for a meeting

JK: Why on earth! They're not nice, I told you.

V: There's something I wanted to ask them

JK: I knew it! You are upset about the whole thing

V: Not upset, just wanted to understand the rationale

JK: And?

V: Like I told you, they just want to grab eyeballs

JK: For that, they only need to put the two of us together in one frame

V: (blushing really hard) You say the most atrocious things at times, Guk

JK: What? It's true

V: Did you eat?

JK: Yeah, you up for some music?

V: Come on

They leave the room, Taehyung literally hanging off Jungkook's back, while Jin and Jimin look at each other with a disgusted expression on their faces

SJ: We're not invisible, are we?

JM: I guess we are

SJ: We're literally here, and they're like horses who only see each other

JM: It is pretty disgusting. If Yoongi hyung were here, he'd smack them

SJ: Would he? He goes all uncharacteristically soft with these two

JM: Oh my god, you're so right!

SJ: I'm guessing now we'll only see them for lunch when their stomachs start growling?

JM: Yep. Lemme go bother Hobi for a bit. You want to come with me?

SJ: Nah. I'll go and chill for a while. It's rare for us to get a day off like this even when the whole world is locked down

JM: I wish things get better soon and we go back to our normal lives

SJ: I know... but I'd say one person in this household is very comfortable with us moving back in here. Not that he doesn't want things to get better, but did you see how he grabbed the opportunity? Remember how pained he looked when Tae moved out? Like someone had punched him in the gut

JM: Of course I remember. It didn't register with him that we were all moving out over time, the only thing that he got stuck with was Tae

SJ: As always

JM: As always

SJ: I wish he grows some brains. Doesn't Taehyung get antsy?

JM: You know Tae. He wouldn't rush anyone for anything. And this Jungkook. If JK realised it when he turns 92, Tae will be patiently waiting for him till then. I don't want to rush the poor boy, he'll come around when it's time , he says

SJ: Never thought I'd live to see the patient side of Taehyung. He's so good for Guk-ah, so mature.

JM: And I never thought I'd see such a whipped JK. He is just so soft for Taetae. It's revoltingly cute. They're good for each other, those two. I just feel like I am forever stuck on episode 12 of a K drama, where the lead couple will finally confess and kiss in episode 13!

Jin bursts into his signature windshield laughter.

In Taehyung's room (not in Jungkook's because it's still a mess, that he could've cleaned up when Tae was gone, but he was too busy staring at the door), the two are busy listening to music in a comfortable silence... Taehyung's scribbling something on his notepad, and Jungkook's organising something on his laptop. Both busy in their worlds, but just content to be around each other, like it's always been.
