for when you wonder why i write:

July 9, 2015

My goal as a writer used to be to get published. I wanted for people to read my works everywhere, at any given time. I have come to realize that the beauty of writing is not in who reads it, nor how popular it becomes, but how it makes you feel.

My goal, as of now and the foreseeable future, is to write something that makes me feel. I not only want readers to feel what the words entail, but i also want the buzz of a good story to ring in my ears when I think of my own.

I want to fall in love with my characters just as they've fallen in and out of their own love with each other. I want to learn and relearn the lessons stitched in the manuscript, and I want to bathe in the emotions with each and every step my characters must take throughout the story.

My ultimate goal is to feel the life humming throughout each page, to hear the pain of each of their voices, as well as the blossoming laughter.

Because, without feeling, what is the
point of writing?
