"The pen is mightier than the Sword, but only for those who wield it."

Aayan Ahmed Zeyad

The air was thick with the scent of exotic spices and the sound of distance thunder rumbled in the distance, hinting an impending storm.

Despite the looming threat of inclement weather, there was a sense of excitement and anticipation in the air. Travelers bustled about, their faces a mix of eagerness and exhaustion, as they navigated the bustling terminal.

After two long years, Aayan's heart was filled with joy as he stepped off the airplane at Kaduna international Airport.

It had been two long years since he had last set his foot in Nigeria, and the familiar sights and sounds of his homeland washed over him like a warm embrace.

As he made his way through the crowded terminal, Aayan couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia creeping in. He had missed his family dearly, and the thought of reuniting with his loved ones brought a smile to his face.

He had sent his belongings over a week prior to his arrival because the thought of carrying anything was nothing short of depressing.
It's not even an exaggeration.

With his black shades pitched perfectly on his actor-like face, the all-black he wore didn't fail to complement the aura he carried. He could remember how his mum will always send him to change when he wore all black. Her favorite line, "Go and change that all-black Aayan. You are not attending a funeral".

He smiled at the memory. Good old times!

He messaged Anas to inform him of his safe arrival before messaging his younger sister, Aliyah, that was going to pick him from the airport informing her of his arrival. He wasn't going to call because waiting was one thing he didn't mind doing.

Maybe it was because he was raised in between a father who didn't mind waiting as well, a mother who enjoyed making you wait to prove a point and a sister who took 2 hours to simply take a 'quick bath'.

So, in a nutshell, waiting was his thing. He did not mind waiting.

Take your time Aaliyah. I just hope you haven't forgotten about me though.
Who was he kidding? Ammi won't let anyone forget his arrival.

He replied his daily message before putting the phone back in his jacket.

"You were no good for me and I was too naïve to see that" ------- Anonymous.

"You should have walked away when you had the chance" ------- Aayan.

As he walked through the bustling airport, Aayan couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement

Outside, the sky darkened as ominous clouds rolled in, casting a shadow over the airport. The air crackled with electricity, a prelude to the impending storm that threatened to disrupt travel plans and delay flights.

His phone rang and he looked at the caller before picking it up. It was Aliyah.

"Aliy......"

"Turn around Aayan. Turn around nice and slow" Aliyah screamed.

He could hear her voice on and off the phone call so he didn't need a magician to tell him she was inches away from him.

He turned around and immediately froze on the spot. He removed his shades unveiling his hazel eyes and looked at the view in front of him.
