City of sadera, saderan Republic

In the newly rebuilt capital of sadera, the Republic had been progressing smoothly. Reforms had pushed through to major success, almost completely destroying the feudal systems under which the old empire ruled under

As well as this, crime around the city, especially in the poorer regions, had taken a steep drop after the formation of the saderan national police force (S.N.P.F)

While the criminal orginaizations of sadera had been a large help for the British army and the saderan Republic, they were only willing to tolerate their law breaking for so long before they decided to act. Almost within an hour, most criminal posts were raided and dissolved, with what was left of the organisations fleeing north to Telta. Not that they made it far through imperial territory: zorzals scorched earth tactics had made sure of that.

While the war on the fields progressed smoothly, and the city rebuilt, the war in the new saderan governemnt was raging on. While the entire population was united in their desire to rid the zorzal regime from the continent, none were sure what direction the empire would take after the war was won: should they abolish the monarchy and form a Republic, maintain a constitutional monarchy, or even go down one of the many other forms of government brought to them by the world beyond the gate.

The main party leading the new saderan parliament was known as the saderan Conservative Party (S.C.P), which was often considered the 'bland' party. They were the most moderate party in the senate, hoping to institute industrialisation and equal rights (both regular and voting) for all, no matter their gender or species. However, they themsleves were split over the matter of the monarchy.

However, they were far from the only political group in the Republic, and two other had risen to challenge them, each with their own ideologies

However, they were far from the only political group in the Republic, and two other had risen to challenge them, each with their own ideologies.

The one considered by the conservative party to be the largest threat was known as the new path party (N.P.P). Lead by former saderan political powerhouse Marcus agudina, the new path party operated under the socialist ideals of Karl Marx. They belived in the dismantling of the old saderan elite, which included the abolition of the monarchy, promoted pro demi-human rhetoric, perhaps even more so than the conservatives, as well as equal property rights across the Republic. They were widely popular with the poorest members of the saderan society and rural farmers, who felt that they were being ignored in favor of the industrialising cities, and demi-humans who had felt marginalised for decided (though keep in mind many demi-humans still supported the conservatives)

The second largest threat from the Conservative perspective was the saderan iron guard (S.I.G). Inspired by the original Romanian iron guard, they were on the exact opposite end of the political spectrum from the new path, being staunchly right wing. However, they had learned not to adapt the (to put it bluntly) racist policies of the original organisation. Instead, they mainly focused on the ideas of rebuilding sadera, as well as saderan nationalism, moderate militarisation (earning them support from many in the ranks of the saderan army) and further co-operation with the united kingdom and, to an extension, the other nations of earth. And While they don't mention it nearly as much as the new path, they also strive towards giving demi-humans equal rights. Ultimately, their objective was to bring sadera into a new golden age, not just internally, but internationally as well

Both parties were highly paranoid of eachother, and this frequently lead to conflict, both in the parliament, and on the streets. Both parties had formed their own paramilitary wings (the N.P.P's pathfinders and the S.I.G's steel legionaries), which had begun fighting eachother in the capital. These often resulted in large amounts of property damage, and the S.N.P.F frequently had to intervene.

The conservative government were understandably worried that this internal conflict would distract the Republic from its war with the imperialists. So, in order to calm the situation, they used a lesson they learned from british diplomats: compromise was key.

To this end, they sent an idea to their rivals with a proposal: to form a coalition government until the end of the war. This would ensure that they could focus on both winning the war and rebuilding the Republic until it was stable enough to be done without worry of distraction.

Both parties readily agreed to this, in large part due to a rapidly growing rival extremist party: the humanity first party (H.F.P). A fringe party established by the saderan upper class, and Covertly funded by the imperial loyalists, they campaigned on a policy of high authoritarianism, as well as a centralisation of wealth and, as their name suggests, the exclusion of demi-humans from the political scene entirely.

Both parties feared the H

Both parties feared the H.F.P, the new path due to its support by the Republic's still somewhat powerful oligarchs, and the iron guard due to their paramilitaries, known as the purifiers, frequently harrasing demi-humans, leading to the steel legionaries frequently clashing with them. as well this, the H.F.P in general pandered to the officers of the army, though this didn't have much effect, due to many of the officers not being of aristocratic descent, though it worried the iron guard nonetheless.

As a result, the three parties formed the saderan national progressive coalition (S.N.P.C) to act as a counter wight to the H.F.P and other growing fringe parties. However, everyone knew that this was an alliance of convenience, and was never going to last.

Only time would tell, which of these parties would institute their policies on the Republic once the war was over...
