Relief washed over me as I spotted the doorknob moving but a single statement from the person beside me, shattered the hope that was bubbling up mere seconds ago.

"It's no use. The system won't allow the door to open without verification." Kai muttered.

"You know what, just burn down this stupid building after we get out, or allow me the honour if it's too much for you." I told him with a smile, emitting the aura that showcased the frustration that I was experiencing at the moment.

Despite the despair that his statement pushed me into, I was still wishing for some miracle to take place.

As if on a cue, the door before us clicked open, revealing none other than..

....Kiara!

Without sparing any parting glance, I rushed out of the dark room, making a beeline to her. Beside her were Maira and an annoyed Chimera.

"If it's done, let's get out of this place first before you start the interrogation. Being at this place is such a bother." Chimera was the first to comment and I couldn't agree less regarding this.

"How did you all come in?" I heard Kai enquiring from behind but Chimera continued walking without paying any heed to the question and I assumed it was funny to witness Kai getting ignored but, the time in that dark was enough to suppress the amusement that I would have attained on any usual occasion. Despite the dark, I could imagine him rolling his eyes at the negligence.

Finally when we were all out, I gave a once over to the building we were just stuck in.

I'm never coming at this place again! They can come to our company from now onwards!!

"Let's see." Chimera stretched his hands lazily "About entering there, it was such a hassle. The guards were such naive fools, locks were easy to deal with and this girl here just hacked into your security system within a few minutes so I would consider it to be trash too."

Wow!
Although, I do agree with what he said, I felt a slight bit sorry for that guy, though the feeling disappeared the moment I saw him quietly fuming over that comment.

He was looking between Kiara and Chimera, clearly surprised at the explanation.

Honestly speaking, I wasn't expecting his lock picking skill to come handy but I can say that I can totally imagine the poor guards losing their jobs by the hands of this flame throwing manipulative Chimera.

Naive fool, he was saying? From what I saw, even the guards here were exceptionally sharp and alert. I wonder how he tricked them.

Kiara, well she is as always outstanding in what she does. Hacking and other such things is something she can do even in her sleep so that's no surprise, but still I was fascinated at the thought that she could do it this fast.

While I was busy with my thoughts, I noticed a smirk slip on Kai's face.

What's with him?

"Since you're so smart, you may know that what you did was trespassing into a private company, for which I can easily get you into a huge trouble." He scoffed, his crimson orbs glaring Chimera.

What the-

"Will it hurt you to be in the right state of mind? Or did you seriously wanted to stay in that stupid room till morning?!" I interfered annoyed which they dared to totally ignore.

As if it was not enough, Chimera being the strange creature he is, smirked back amused as he only put more petrol into the fire, instigating Kai further "It would be amusing to see you try. Go ahead."

I facepalmed at this. Why is this Chimera like this?

"Shut up if you can't spit anything sensible." Kiara pulled Chimera back and focused her attention to Kai.

She maybe a psychologist but she still holds a personality of a strong businesswoman, I must say.

"Do as you care but it would be foolish of you to do without any evidence." She told him indifferently.

Yes! That's my princess!

He glanced at the CCTV cameras at this which didn't waver anyone's expressions even a bit.

"Ah sorry to disappoint you, but we were mindful of them knowing your personality." Maira told with a shrug making Kai narrow his eyes.

I couldn't contain the laughter of amusement any longer, earning a glare from him.

"You.. you all will regret it." Kai glared at everyone, while trying to contain his anger.

"Believe me, we do regret it a lot. Now that we have talked with you, I think we should have gone with Noah's suggestion." She said, sparking up my curiosity.

"What was the suggestion?" I enquired at which Chimera rolled his eyes saying "To break those cameras on the way, but who ever listens to me?"

"Hehe okay." I was giggling lightly at how Kai was raging.

"So, let's get back now." I said to everyone before turning to Kai "At sharp 8 a.m., my company tomorrow. Dare to be late and you'll see the project getting snatched from you."

"Says the one who was literally jumping on every single sound a while ago?" He scoffed.

"Doesn't suit coming from someone who got stuck in his own company building." I retorted.

Before we could enter a glaring contest, Chimera honked the horn.

"I'm going home now, sit if you care, or just don't." He called out.

With that said, we all hurried to the car, leaving Kai behind.

Returning back, I crashed on bed and drifted to sleep after the long day I had.

Though in morning, I was woken up to an unexpected call.
