Chapter 4

"Quite captivated with your best friend, ain't you?" Chimera commented with an amused expression, earning a confused look from me.

"Let me help you out there, why don't you look around a bit?" Kiara suggested, her eyes shining with glee.

"Huh?" I looked around confused only to realise that I was so engrossed in chatting with Kiara that I didn't notice that the person who brought cold coffee for us was none other than Jared!

"Umm why are you doing a servant's work?" I sweatdropped as he was smiling brightly at me.

I pulled him to sit on the couch and he did.

"See? It was you, who had him take the kitchen duties, not me." Kiara said giving him a side glance.

"Kiara.." I spoke up, a grin spreading across my face as I leaned towards her "...are you jealous that he took over kitchen for me, not you?"

She rolled her eyes as she muttered "Why would I be jealous? Even take your brother with you for all I care. I would be more at peace."

I glanced at Jared to find him looking at her fondly as he chuckled lightly.

"Soo how are your days going now that your girlfriend is staying with you??" I queried him with an exhilarated grin.

I swear I could see his ears turning a light hue of red as he chuckled nervously saying "Come on. There's nothing like that. It's just due to construction in her neighbourhood."

"Yeah yeah." I muttered and saw Chimera munching on popcorn and playing lazily with Kiara's cat, Luna.

He was dangling his car keys in front of her, while she tried to get it with her paws. The sight was adorable until she got annoyed with him hehe.

She turned around and attempted to whip her tail at him, which he effortlessly caught. She tried to scratch him but the effort proved to be futile in front of Chimera.

Ofcourse, how could an adorable cat be a match to the flamethrowing Chimera. Even though I merely gave 'Chimera' as a nickname to Noah, he surely lives up to this name.

Just like that mythological creature, his personality too carries the same qualities as a Chimera. I feel quite proud of myself for naming him so well hehe.

"Quit bothering her already." Kiara spoke up in an annoyed manner. She adores her cat afterall.

"Look who's talking." He smirked "And anyways, it was your cat who came to me, so you can't blame me for messing with her."

As they were both busy in their argument, I quickly picked up Luna and made her sit in my lap. She coiled up cozily as Jared asked "So how was your meeting that you were talking about?"

"It was fine." I replied, trying not to think about that cold-hearted guy.

"Who annoyed the kid this time?" Noah had straightened up by now, leaning slightly forward with interest.

"For the last time I'm telling you, stop getting into your mentalist form!" I snapped at him.

"What happened?" Kiara questioned.

"I had told you about that Kai Hiwatari right? He is such an annoyingly arrogant person! I can't bear him!!" I told them about what and all happened.

"Wow. Nice nice. I should have been there to see that." Chimera mused.

"What's nice in it?!" I queried, squinting my eyes at him, giving him a sharp look.

"Nothing nothing." He shook off the topic.

This guy...!!

"Well leave this. How is both of yours work is going?" I turned to Kiara and Jared.

"Going fine." Was Kiara's short response as always.

"Really? You don't scold the people who come to you right? Atleast do you smile with them?" I interrogated.

"I'm a psychologist, stupid. Just what do you expect?" She uttered.

"I am not a psychologist, so you will have to tell me what to expect, idiot." I responded.

"Hn. Didn't scold or kill anyone yet. And wasn't I smiling with you too, genius?" She replied.

"Hehe yeah. Good then!" Then I turned to Jared asking "What about you?"

"It's going good. Combining things with Ethan's robotics knowledge was an absolute success." He responded.

"That's great!" I chimed, "Now that you mention him, where's he?"

"Had annoyed Kiara so she chased him away. He'll return in a while." Jared chuckled.

"It was your best friend who was being annoying." Kiara defended her action with her reasoning.

"He's not just my best friend, but your cousin too." My brother retorted.

Just why are they both only dating?? I can't wait to tell their kids all about their story and more importantly, to spoil them!

We chatted for quite some time and I was extremely delighted and at peace to be with them. It was as if I was in my haven.

I was enveloped with a soothing warm joy that held me close in it's embrace as I was surrounded by the people precious to me.

I wish this moment would never end and will continue like this forever.

I glanced around to look at every person as I realised, that I know about Jared leading an IT company, Kiara helps him once in a while, being the expert in the field she is, while by profession, she is a psychologist.

Shiny has a small but a well off customization store running, where people ask her to customize their things. She impressively uses her art and craft skills in her work. It's been only a few years but her store is getting quite popular even online.

People often approach her for customizing an item to gift their loved ones and I'm sure their satisfied happy smiles and remarks are quite priceless to her.

I know what these three are doing, but this Chimera! He hasn't told me yet!

'It's for me to know and you to find out, kid.'
That's what he said when I asked him.

I do know that he's good at writing and do write articles and things on requests of publisher but I never got to know anything more than that!
