She nodded. "So much so that I have a surprise for you."

Regulus' eyes lit up in excitement. "Yeah?"

Without uttering a word, she intertwined her fingers with his and guided him down the echoing corridors, their footsteps echoing softly against the stone floors. Regulus followed her, the warmth of her touch sending a thrill through him as they made their way to the prefects' bathroom.

She stopped at the entrance and pointed at it. "Unlock."

Regulus let out a scoff at her bossiness and said the password to unlock the bathroom and as the entrance opened, Rune pulled him inside.

The soft glow of the prefects' bathroom surrounded them as they stepped inside, the sound of trickling water echoing around the cavernous room.

"What's the surprise?" asked Regulus, glancing at where Rune still held his hand.

She released it and he nearly cursed himself for asking the question until she took his hand again, holding him by the wrist as she stepped closer to him.

He held his breath as she led his hand beneath the hem of the jersey.

Her skin was smooth against his touch, sending a jolt of electricity through him. Regulus's breath caught in his throat as she slowly guided his hand upwards to where his fingers brushed against the curves of her body.

A shaky breath fell from her lips as he traced a delicate pattern over her chest using the back of his fingers and his nails.

"What are you doing?" he whispered, unable to tear his gaze away from hers.

Before he could comprehend what was happening, Rune stood on her tiptoes and pressed her lips to his in a soft, lingering kiss. Time seemed to stand still as they shared that stolen moment in the hushed sanctuary of the prefects' bathroom.

Regulus's mind reeled with the intensity of the kiss, his heart thundering in his chest. He responded instinctively, deepening the kiss as he cupped her face with his free hand, savoring the softness of her lips against his. The world around them faded into insignificance, leaving only the two of them locked in a passionate embrace.

"Consider that my surprise for you," Rune said softly. "And my thanks for the meal the other day."

His gaze remained unflinchingly on hers as he murmured, "I can't believe I have to leave you and go play quidditch now."

She laughed and took a step back and as his hand fell out of the jersey, she said, "Go win the match, and we can make it thrice. There's plenty more surprises I have to show you."

Regulus took a step closer to her and grabbed her waist, pulling her back into his air. Before the laughter could fade from her face, he lowered his head and kissed her again.

As their lips met once more, the world outside seemed to fade away again, leaving only the two of them lost in each other.

When he finally pulled away, he ran his eyes over her face and sighed deeply. "I'll come find you after the match. Wait for me."

With that, they exited the prefect's bathroom.
