I wish I were that tree, Trunk so beautiful and sturdy.I wish I were that tree, Their branches reaching far and wide.I wish I were that tree, That tree right beside me.I wish I were that tree, Then nobody would look down upon me. I wish I were that tree, Leaves so different yet a sight others may oversee. I wish I were that tree, Just a simple tree. I wish I were that tree, But there are always secrets within the branches of any tree, Tales old and young, that only they know, Their secrets different from one another, Yet they may not be seen, Till the trees share their leaves, each secret scripted among the lines of the green, And yet leaves fall, but leaves grow, Everyone is a tree. That tree beside me, I want to be that tree,But that tree is not me.
