"he shot at me honey!"

your father sighed.

"if we win (y/n) has to give you headpats." he spoke.

you turned to look at him with a betrayed look from over Ruby's shoulder.

your mother stopped crying, and got down on all 4's, just like you had during initiation.

"what do you mean be careful?" Ruby asked.

when she looked over your own shoulder, she knew why.

your mother was now staring straight at the both of you, a determined glare on her face.

"god that's so hot." you heard your father say.

within a second, your mother dashed forward, seemingly disappearing.

you opened your fists, grabbing your mother's hands, her blades dangerously close to your face.

Ruby quickly used crescent rose to get her off you.

your mother jumped back, and you grabbed an arrow that was about to hit Ruby in the side.

'work as one.' you thought.

'and become one.' she finished off.

you placed your gun on Ruby's shoulder and shot at your dad, and he took a singular step to the side, just as before.

but he didn't expect an arm to grab his foot and pull him towards you.

'oh...quite smart.' he thought, falling to the floor and being dragged towards you.

you lunged forward, sending your fist straight toward his face, but he used his bow to catch your fist.

"not bad." he smiled at you, "but not good enough."

he swept your feet, and you fell to the ground.

you went to stand up, but he quickly aimed his bow straight at your face.

"yield."

you looked up at him, a neutral look on your face.

all you did was smile at him.

he raised an eyebrow.

well, that was until he got slammed in the face by crescent rose.

Ruby seemed absolutely furious as she gripped her scythe.

you had never seen her so pissed off.

then again, she was always angry if you got hurt in any way at all, even if your aura took most, if not all, of the attack.

you stood up, and she glanced over her shoulder to look at you.

you felt shivers crawl up your spine as she glared harshly at you.

well, not at you...if you get what i mean?

she quickly turned back around, and used her semblance to get behind your father.

he was surprised by her speed and had taken a full brunt of an attack to the back.

he slid forward a few steps and used that momentum to jump over your head, pulling his bow back and firing an arrow straight at your tail.

you were barely able to dodge to the side, it scraping your tail and causing a large amount of discomfort.

you silently growled as your tail wrapped itself around you for a moment.

Ruby moved to your side.

"wait, where's-"

she wasn't able to finish her sentence when you grabbed Ruby's shoulders, pulled her down and jumped over her, your foot extended and catching your mother's stomach.
